New clients continue care with this provider

My name is Stephanie Martin and I have been a social worker for 6 years. My undergraduate degree is from Oakland University and my graduate degree is from Michigan State. I have worked with a variety of different mental health diagnoses, including depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, opposition defiance disorder, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, and other developmental disorders. I look forward to meeting you and learning how I can help you grow.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Therapy should be person-centered, meaning I want my clients to feel like they are in the driver seat when it comes to our sessions. It is important for me to get to know you, while being able to identify what areas of your life you want to strengthen and/or improve.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths include encouragement, empowerment, and advocating for you in whatever areas you need. Honesty and integrity are important to me as a therapist, and I want to make sure that my clients know that I will be there as a support person as they embark on their journeys through therapy. Whether this is your first time or your a veteran to therapy, I want you to feel comfortable knowing that we are in this together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Although a majority of my experience is with children and adolescents, I am looking forward to working with clients of all ages who are looking to improving their strategies to navigate life with mental health concerns and/or trauma.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our thoughts and feelings influence how we respond to situations in our lives. I have used CBT with my clients for the past six years and I have seen how changing patterns of thinking can help clients change outcomes.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors. I have used DBT to help clients recognize patterns, obstacles, and perspective-taking to help them develop skills needed to grow.

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy is a therapeutic approach that emphasizes a client's existing strengths, resources, and positive qualities to promote well-being and facilitate personal growth. Instead of solely focusing on problems or deficits, it leverages a client's capabilities to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
