I hope to foster growth and strengthen coping skills during difficult transitional points in a person’s life.

I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families who struggle with anxiety, chronic health conditions, depression, loss and grief, stress, trauma, and relationship issues such as boundaries, parenting, intimacy, infidelity, trust, and more.
I work with clients to process and heal psychological and relational pain. I believe that therapy is both science and art. The art of therapy can be seen as a joint venture between clients and therapists, and the science reflects in providing assessments, treatment plans, and evidence-based interventions. I believe in the collaboration between clients as experts in their lives and myself as a therapist who is trained in providing therapy services.
My motto is, “People do the best they can with the resources they have at that time.” I believe therapy can help individuals recognize, strengthen, and expand those resources as they work toward a healthier and more fulfilling life. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to support clients in understanding patterns, developing effective coping skills, and creating lasting change.
I am committed to providing a compassionate and collaborative space where clients feel supported and empowered. Greetings, I am a licensed mental health clinician licensed in Maryland, DC and Virginia with over seven years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. My approach to therapy is holistic and strength-based, focusing on helping clients navigate and resolve a wide range of life’s challenges. By drawing upon each individual’s unique strengths, I work to foster resilience and encourage a continuous journey of healing, growth, and self-discovery. My goal is to create a supportive environment that empowers clients to uncover deeper insights, develop effective coping strategies, and enhance their overall well-being.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, mentally unsteady, or unsure how to move forward — you don’t have to carry that alone.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of North Carolina State University. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, and questions of direction or purpose. Many of the people I support feel capable and motivated — yet internally worn down, struggling to feel grounded, present, or confident in themselves.
My primary focus is helping clients stabilize emotionally and mentally — so you feel more anchored, regulated, and clear. From that place of steadiness, we begin to explore how you can grow into the fullest version of yourself, making the most of your strengths, values, and lived experience rather than trying to become someone you’re not.
Therapy with me is not about pushing or fixing — it’s about creating a solid foundation where clarity, confidence, and meaningful change can naturally emerge. For those who find meaning and strength in their Christian faith, I welcome that as part of our work together — though spirituality is never required or assumed. You bring what matters to you, and we build from there.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping older teens and young adults navigate life’s challenges, particularly around identity, trauma, and emotional well-being. As an African American female therapist, I blend my personal experiences with evidence-based approaches to create a safe, empowering environment. I believe in holistic care that addresses not just the individual but their entire system, so clients can achieve balanced and lasting growth.
PLEASE NOTE: I specialize in Gerontology.
I believe in empowering older adults by fostering independence, resilience and sense of identity. Aging is a journey that should be met with dignity, respect, and opportunities for growth. By actively listening, providing tailored support, and encouraging self-determination, I can help older adults maintain their autonomy and confidence. Resilience is nurtured through meaningful connections, purposeful activities, and a focus on strengths rather than limitations. I am committed to honoring an individual's experiences, celebrating their uniqueness, and creating environments where people feel valued and capable. I challenge stereotypes about aging and promote a vision of later life filled with possibility and fulfillment.
I am Dr. George Stallings. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 18 years of experience, proudly serving clients in Maryland and Virginia. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a diverse background in mental health care across various settings and states. Outpatient therapy and telehealth therapy services are my primary focus. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, understanding, and respect for each client's unique experiences and emotions. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their challenges, build resilience, and work toward meaningful change.
Experiencing life challenges like disappointments, stress, life transitions, trauma, heartbreak without emotional support can leave us stuck or in unhealthy patterns of behavior. Also sometimes it's helpful to have someone as a sounding board for life and decision-making. The modalities I utilize are person-centered, solution-focused, EMDR, CBT, TF-CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and attachment theory. I tailor my approach to the betterment of the client.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 10 years experience working with children, families and adults journeying to their established goals. I have a passion for people not feeling alone, challenging unproductive behaviors and thoughts, processing trauma, clients learning how to own their life by living it on their terms, developing resilience and clients feeling seen and heard.
My analytical, curious and empathetic nature invites clients toward building lives of emotional stability and a healthy self. As we navigate the joys and pains of being human, I would be honored to join you on your journey.

I would describe myself as an eclectic therapist as I draw from multiple theoretical orientations and techniques. I use psychodynamic principles to help uncover early relational patterns, unconscious beliefs, and internal dynamics that may be influencing your present experience. For many years, I have specialized in Cognitive Processing Therapy —particularly with Veterans working through trauma-related symptoms. My approach is always trauma-informed, collaborative, and culturally sensitive, focusing on helping clients process and shift painful beliefs rooted in traumatic experiences.
I also like to integrate mindfulness-based strategies to guide individuals in exploring and processing challenging emotions, empowering them to develop healthier coping mechanisms.
No matter your background or what brings you to therapy, you deserve support that feels affirming and effective. My role is to walk beside you as you explore healing, growth, and meaningful change.
Hi, I’m La’Kisha “Kisha” Jordan and I believe therapy is a healing space rooted in truth, transformation, and cultural connection. I work with teens, individuals, women, and families who are tired of just surviving and ready to start healing—for real. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, trauma, or just feeling lost in the noise of life, I hold space that is safe, soulful, and judgment-free.
My approach is eclectic and intuitive—I don’t just use one method because you’re not one-size-fits-all. I blend evidence-based techniques like CBT and DBT with creativity, storytelling, spirituality, and real talk. One session might include grounding and deep breathing; another might involve journaling, laughter, or hard truths said with love. I meet you where you are, and walk with you toward where you want to be.
I’m not just a therapist behind a desk—I’m a woman who’s lived, lost, loved, and learned. I see you. I hear you. And I believe in your ability to grow through what you go through.
Therapy isn't just about talking. It's about getting results. I offer the kind of therapy which provides my patients with the results that they are seeking.

Hello,
My name is Tierra Evans. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Supervisor and Mental Health Clinician. I have been a licensed Social Worker for nine years and counting. I am a Texas native and have traveled extensively. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other therapeutic modalities. My passion is to nurture and cultivate positive energy and high vibrations throughout my life journey.
Services are provided within a short-term, goal-oriented framework. Treatment typically consists of 6–8 sessions. Progress is formally reviewed around session six, at which point the client and therapist mutually determine whether to conclude services, extend treatment for an additional time-limited phase, or pursue other appropriate options.
I’m a therapist who believes deeply in the power of connection, compassion, and honest conversation. Over the past 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people facing trauma, ADHD, grief, and the many transitions that come with aging, and I approach each person’s story with respect and genuine curiosity. I work gently and collaboratively, creating a space where you can slow down, breathe, and explore what you’re carrying without judgment. As someone who has always shared my life with animals, I understand how grounding and healing those bonds can be, and I welcome clients who find comfort and strength in them too. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered as you move toward a life that feels more steady, meaningful, and hopeful.
Outside of my work, I’m someone who finds joy in simple, grounding things. I love reading, spending time in nature, and making enthusiastic—but often less‑than‑successful—attempts at gardening. Building LEGO is one of my favorite mindfulness activities, and I enjoy attending local outdoor festivals, practicing quiet moments of mindfulness, and spending time with my pets, family, and friends. These parts of my life help me stay balanced, present, and connected, and they often inform the warmth and authenticity I bring into the therapy room.
Hi, I'm Taylor. I'm so glad you're here. It’s no small thing making the decision to sign up to talk to a stranger about the overwhelming and very often draining circumstances that you’re in. I want to highlight how much being on this site, and looking through profiles is such a significant step toward your mental health goals.
Anxiety and improving self image are at the core of my work. I focus on helping clients develop flexible thinking and self-compassion — practical tools that help you step away from self-criticism and patterns that keep life feeling heavy. The goal of this work isn't about becoming a perfect version of yourself. It's about learning to navigate life's challenges with greater flexibility, confidence, and self-understanding.
Are you a woman facing big decisions? Navigating relationship challenges, family dynamics, parenting difficulties, career pivots? My background shapes how I approach therapy with clients facing such women's issues, which includes years as a licensed mental health counselor, but also as serving in senior leadership within higher education, supporting clients as a transformational coach, and balancing parenting along the way. This mix (and juggling act) gives me a practical understanding of how emotional wellbeing is often shaped by work, caregiving, relationships, and major life responsibilities.
Many of the woman I work with are thoughtful, capable, and carrying more than others realize. They often appear highly functional on the outside while privately feeling overwhelmed, depleted, uncertain, or disconnected from themselves. I help clients slow things down enough to understand what is happening beneath the surface, identify what needs attention, and move forward in ways that feel grounded and realistic.
I am licensed in Washington, Virginia, and Rhode Island, am a nationally certified counselor, and hold a doctorate in adult and higher education. While my colleagues may call me Dr. T, in counseling I'm just Melanie. I'm here to support you, help you find clarity and calm, offer guidance, levity, and a safe space for tears, perimenopausal rage, or a well placed curse word. Together, we find solutions to the barriers keeping you from your next chapter.

Hello! My name is Meredith. I am an LPC, and have been in private practice since 2021. I am deeply passionate about what I do and I'm so glad to be getting started on Grow. As a therapist, I intentionally try to bring my most genuine and authentic self to my clients. I know how crucial this is as the basis of a productive working relationship. My sessions are primarily client-led, meaning I will prioritize what feels most prescient to you on a given day, and meet you where you are. At the same time, I will help ensure that we are consistently working toward your specific goals. I feel that the best therapeutic outcomes come from the most secure and trusting counseling relationships, and that is what I try to provide. It is probably also important for any potential client to know that my office will always be a safe space for all, regardless of belonging to any underserved, disenfranchised community.
When I am not at work, I love cooking, all things macabre and scary- books, movies, podcasts, and I love reading and hanging out with my family. I am passionate about all kinds of art and the written word. I recently took up archery, and it is a great outlet. Otherwise, I am an indoor type of gal, especially in the summer. I am quick to laugh, and will often crack a joke at my own expense.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive space to heal and grow. Growing up in a conservative community in South America, I witnessed how stigma often prevents people from seeking help. That experience inspired my commitment to creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I work collaboratively with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My approach is compassionate, culturally responsive, and tailored to your unique needs, integrating evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and EMDR-informed techniques to help you process difficult experiences, build resilience, and create lasting change.

My approach to therapy is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to explore life's challenges at their own pace.
I have experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, addiction, and suicidal ideation, providing compassionate, evidence-based care during some of life's most difficult moments. I also have experience supporting military members, veterans, first responders, and couples, recognizing the unique stressors and relationship dynamics these populations often experience.
Clients often describe me as inquisitive, personable, and easy to talk to. I believe that curiosity, authentic connection, and thoughtful listening are essential to understanding each person's unique story, Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I collaborate with clients to identify their strengths, clarify their goals, and develop practical strategies that foster resilience, healing, and lasting change.

I have experienced loss, grief, life transitions, and family conflict, and I understand that sometimes even the strongest among us need support finding our way through difficult seasons.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I bring life experiences, professional training, and a genuine understanding of how complex life can be. My treatment modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and Ericksonian hypnotherapy approaches. Although I used these modalities, I do not use a one size fits all approach. I am a think-out-of-the-box clinician that will often challenge clients to try approaches that may be out of their comfort zone. Some examples of my experience include working with individual clients on developing skills in coping with mental health conditions/diagnosis, life stress, finding balance, and improving self-esteem. Although I use these approaches, my clients tell me it feels like we are having a conversation as opposed to feeling like they are in a therapy session. I have a specialization in working with Veterans, LGBTQI, men, and people of color populations. However, I work with all people who are seeking mental health services. I am licensed in DC (LICSW), VA (LCSW), MD (LCSW-C), and PA (LCSW). I have BS in Human Ecology, BA in Humanities from The Ohio State University, MSW from San Jose State University and Post Masters fellowship in mental health from Stanford University.

Hi, I’m Ashley therapist, animal lover, creative soul, and lifelong daydreamer. I bring a warm and down-to-earth approach to my work, and I believe that connection, curiosity, and authenticity are at the heart of healing.
When I’m not in session, you can usually find me lost in a good book especially fantasy, romantasy, or dark romance (I’m a proud BookTok girly). Some of my favorite reads have come straight from client recommendations. I always love hearing what’s on your bookshelf.
I’m also a big fan of all things crafty. Paper crafting is my go-to especially junk journals and mini albums but I’ve dabbled in wreaths, t-shirts, and tumblers. My creativity also spills into my love of music, which spans from Sleep Token to George Strait to Eminem. I’m always up for discovering new bands or catching a local show.
On slower days, I love wandering through antique stores and thrift shops. Most of my home is decorated with pieces that have a story either found secondhand or passed down through family. I find comfort in giving old things new life.
Animals have always been a grounding force in my world. I’ve been riding horses since I was four, and my heart horse, Kirby, is my trail buddy and snack-sharing best friend (she’s a big fan of applesauce and cupcakes). My two dogs, Oliver and Dottie, are certified therapy dogs who’ve joined me in visits to hospices, hospitals, nursing homes, and children’s reading programs. Together, Kirby, Oliver, and Dottie inspired the name Free to Wander Counseling, a reflection of my belief that healing often begins when we allow ourselves to explore, play, and connect in gentle, open-hearted ways.
Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome here just as you are.
