There is no wrong way for you to begin.At the onset of our therapeutic journey together, it is crucial for us to establish a strong foundation built on mutual understanding and shared expectations. The initial sessions will be dedicated to getting to know you, your struggles, and your hopes for therapy. This is a collaborative process where we will work together to gain insights into your unique situation and identify areas where we can begin to make progress. During this phase, I will ask open-ended questions to encourage you to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It is important for you to feel comfortable and safe in our sessions, so please know that there is no right or wrong way to begin. Your honesty and openness will be essential in helping me understand your perspective and develop a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to your needs. As we explore your struggles, we will work together to identify patterns and underlying causes. Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely-used therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors to improve mental health. In individual sessions, CBT can be tailored to address specific issues such as anxiety, depression, or phobias by helping individuals recognize and challenge their irrational beliefs and develop healthier coping strategies. For example, a person struggling with social anxiety may work with a therapist in CBT sessions to identify and challenge their negative beliefs about social interactions. Through techniques such as cognitive restructuring and exposure therapy, the individual can gradually confront their fears and learn new ways to manage anxiety in social situations. Another example could be someone dealing with depression who learns to recognize and reframe their negative self-talk through CBT. Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy can be used within an individual treatment session in a number of ways. One common approach is for the therapist to simply listen to the client and reflect back what they are saying. This allows the client to feel heard and understood, and it also helps them to identify and clarify their thoughts and feelings. Another approach is for the therapist to ask open-ended questions that encourage the client to explore their experiences in more depth. This can help the client to gain new insights into their problems and to develop new ways of coping with them. Through my experiences, I help clients understand their own self-understanding and self-actualization to address their needs and wants in their lives.

Motivational Interviewing

MI is grounded in the principles of empathy, respect, and collaboration.
