Hi. My name is Deborah Vaughn and I have dedicated my life to making your life better. I have laughed and I have loved. I have cried and I have lost. I have experienced anxiety and depression, poverty and wealth. I have had beauty and acceptance, age and neglect. I have given birth to four children, two that were incarcerated for crimes, and I have had them brought back to me renewed again in life. I've been sad and lonely and I have been on top of the mountain singing praises to the God of the Universe. Experiences, I've had too many to number, both good and bad, and I have learned from each and every one. Empathy I have for all, because I too have probably been there, or I could have been there easily enough. I have saved them all in my mind and heart so that I can help you through any of them you might need my help with. Sincerely, Deborah

I know that starting therapy can feel a little uncomfortable, especially if you are used to being the one who holds everything together. My goal is to make the process feel welcoming, supportive, and real. I want you to feel like you can come in, take a breath, and be yourself. I work with adults who are navigating stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationship concerns, parenting challenges, and the emotional weight that can come from difficult experiences. My approach is warm, honest, and collaborative. We will talk through what is going on, make sense of the patterns that may be getting in your way, and work toward changes that feel realistic for your life. I do not believe therapy has to feel stiff or overly clinical. There is room for reflection, hard conversations, growth, and yes, even laughter. You do not have to have the perfect words or a clear plan before you begin. Just come as you are, and we can take it from there... together.

Hi, I’m Samantha. I’m a compassionate, trauma-informed social worker with a background in working with adolescents and families, including experience in residential treatment settings supporting teenage girls and boys who have experienced trauma, difficult life circumstances, and significant emotional and behavioral challenges. My work has taught me the importance of meeting people where they are, looking beyond behaviors, and understanding the experiences that may be underneath them. I believe therapy should feel like a safe place where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. My approach is warm, genuine, and collaborative. I use approaches such as EMDR, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy to help clients process difficult experiences, understand patterns, develop healthier coping skills, and build a stronger sense of self. Most importantly, I want my clients to know they don’t have to navigate everything alone. My goal is to walk alongside you, provide a space where you feel truly heard and understood, and help you recognize your own strengths while working toward the life you want.

I am authentically me, and I show up as a human first. I believe everyone carries their own stories, strengths, and struggles. I meet each person with openness and without judgment. I understand difficult things because I've lived through them. I bring personal, lived experience with trauma, neurodivergence, complex family dynamics, and the ripple effects addiction can have on those close to it. This isn't just clinical knowledge to me, it's something I've walked through myself. In a world that can feel unsafe or unwelcoming to those who are "different," I strive to be a safe place for you. My goal is simple: to help you feel truly seen, heard, and feel better. Your healing and your journey are my passion. I’ve been married to my best friend for over 26 years, and together we have an adult daughter, two beloved fur babies, and tortoise. Outside of the therapy room, you’ll most likely find me out in nature, kayaking, walking trails, or simply enjoying the calm. My family and I love playing all kinds of board games, and I also enjoy reading, painting, and watching movies or mindless TV when I need to recharge. At the heart of everything I do is a deep belief that healing happens in safe, authentic connection and I am honored every time someone invites me to be part of that journey.

Hi. My name is Christine Toler, Chris, and I earned my Ed.S and LPC- MHSP in the state of Tennessee, New Jersey and Delaware. I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor since 2010, and a School Counselor since 2006. I started being a believer in therapy when it first helped me over forty years ago, (as a child). I thought what a wonderful way to get to the root of the problem... and get rid of it. Since then, I have been working on myself as a client as well as acquiring a licensure to help others, including teens, adults and families. I focus on solution based and non-judgmental cognitive therapy. I believe understanding a problem is not the end of the work. (unfortunately) The action we take to support a positive change... is what changes lives. And while I have experienced that in some very important areas... I continue to grow... daily. I choose to be transparent about that because I believe it is important to the work that my clients know I understand how it feels to be in their chair. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, doubt, guilt, grief, or all of the above, I believe I can help you.

From there, I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work, building a strong foundation to guide, support, and empower those I work with. My practice is grounded in a client-centered, collaborative, and trauma-informed philosophy. I view therapy as a partnership, with your voice and perspective at the center. Hey I'm Mark! I live in Nashville, Tennessee and I've been in the mental health field for 16 years. I want to break down a few walls. I am gay, I have ADHD, and am a survivor of religious trauma. I am secular and spiritual. I work with a lot of clients that share these commonalities. My main and favorite approach to the healing process is Internal Family Systems. I've worked in a variety of settings from outpatient counseling centers to acute emergency rooms and psychiatric hospitals. Many of my clients may describe me as goal directed and liken me to a coach. I utilize evidence based theories and am well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Attachment Based models. These three theories together are power house combination when it comes to understanding the universal struggle of one's suffering. They overlap together to provide a foundation for understanding the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors (CBT) to map out the many parts of self (IFS). Many parts are acting out of fear and getting you stuck in relational loops (Attachment Model). My goal is to help you wake up and remember that you are your own healing agent. My motto is: 🌀 Flow like the river 💗 Act from love not fear 🙏 Be a Bodhisattva.

My role is to help you find clarity, awareness, reconnect with your own wisdom, and take steps toward meaningful, healing, and lasting change. My client-centered approach blends experiential, trauma-informed, neurological perspectives alongside philosophical wisdom traditions that honor natural flow, personal responsibility, compassionate awareness, and mindful presence. I believe therapy thrives when it’s collaborative and stigma-free. Each session is shaped to your needs, not a template. Alongside traditional counseling, I bring Ketamine-assisted therapy and Brainspotting into the session, offering meaningful tools for exploration and lasting change.

Hello, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Texas and Tennessee with 30 years of counseling and ministry experience. I began as a minister of the Gospel in the Southern Baptist tradition in 1993 working with the homeless to overcome the struggles of addiction and hopelessness in North Carolina and Tennessee. From there, I became a case manager in a rural oupatient behavioral health clinic helping the chronically mentally ill live independently outside of the institutional settings. As my family of five children grew, my wife encouraged me to join the military in 2007 and for the next 13 years we served alongside our Soldiers and their Families as a chaplain. There, I learned through experience how to work through the stress of multiple transitions, the unyeilding demands for time and energy, and the unjust nature of toxic environments. I learned how to support those who wanted to strengthen themselves and their relationships in these environments and to ultimately be at peace with who they are and who they want to be. As I have matured in my training and become licensed in marriage and family therapy, I have found that I now specialize in using Solution Focused therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help individuals identify their strengths and the beliefs that are guiding their behavior. With this knowledge, people can begin to choose who they want to be.

My name is Juanelle, and I am a lifelong resident of Northeast Tennessee committed to providing therapy services to individuals across the state. I earned a Master of Science in Social Work from The University of Tennessee in 2009, and my professional background includes working with young adults in Sullivan County Drug Court and supporting individuals of all ages facing opioid dependence at Overmountain Recovery. Additionally, I have provided therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and their families addressing a broad range of mental health challenges through Bristol Regional Counseling, Frontier Health’s school-based therapy and mobile crisis programs. Prior to becoming a social worker/therapist I had a variety of lived experiences including 24 years with Eastman Chemical Company and being a parent of two. The resilience, strengths, and diverse backgrounds of those I have assisted continually inform and inspire my clinical practice.

Through my years of practice I have come to understand that the most important factor in having a positive and productive therapy experience is the solid collaboration between the therapist and the patients. In a trusting, confidential and empathic environment one can manage challenging issues and find a way towards self improvement and further growth. I provide support and guidance and encourage self determination to help my client reach goals that are important to them. It's a valuable partnership in which I hope to assist in finding a way to more fulfilling relationships, more satisfaction and greater self esteem.

Hello! I am so glad you have made the decision towards making positive changes for yourself. I specialize in helping my clients who are struggling to manage emotions and behaviors that are interfering with their daily functioning in areas such as personal relationships, work, parenting, school, etc. These struggles may be the result of a single event that threatened survival, like a car accident, or from a chronic history of trauma and loss. Or maybe one struggles to manage their emotions and behaviors but they do not understand why. Maybe a person's life seems pretty good or even great. But they're puzzled as to why they feel the way they do. One may have thought "I have no reason to feel this way." I invite you to explore with me the possible origins of these thoughts and feelings. There are times we all need help and support.

For over 20 years, I have worked with individuals and families facing unexpected life challenges that disrupted their sense of peace, security, and connection. I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, and relationship concerns. Many of my clients are seeking clarity about important decisions, healing from difficult experiences, improving communication, strengthening relationships, or becoming the healthiest version of themselves. Clients are the experts in their own lives. My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, strengths-based, and mindfulness-informed techniques to promote emotional healing, personal growth, and resilience. My role is to provide a supportive, collaborative environment where clients can gain insight, build on their strengths, and develop practical tools to overcome challenges. I meet clients where they are, offering compassion, encouragement, and accountability while helping them identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Through therapy, they have gained greater clarity, resilience, emotional regulation, and confidence, allowing them to create meaningful and lasting change. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is warm, welcoming, and empowering; an environment where clients feel safe to be authentic, vulnerable, and free from judgment. My goal is for clients to leave therapy feeling heard, valued, and better equipped to navigate life's challenges with confidence.

I am a licensed therapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and compassion. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth, healing, and fulfillment, and therapy can be a powerful step toward reaching that potential. I work with women and men who are managing stress, anxiety, perfectionism, or significant life transitions such as parenthood, career shifts, or relationship changes. Many of my clients are striving to balance multiple roles while also wanting to prioritize their own happiness and well-being. In our work together, I may use different modalities such psychodynamic, cognitive, humanistic, and group therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. We may explore underlying patterns, identify and shift unhelpful thought processes, and build on existing strengths. My role is to support clients in gaining insight, developing effective coping tools, and creating healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. Clients often leave therapy with a deeper sense of self, improved resilience, and the confidence to make meaningful changes. My mission is to empower both women and men to move beyond what holds them back and build lives of balance, purpose, and fulfillment.

Hi, I'm Anna. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I believe therapy should feel like a deep breath--not another thing to brace yourself for. In my office, you can exhale. You don't have to perform or polish anything up. I offer a space that's calm, honest, and rooted in trust--where it's okay to be messy, uncertain, angry, shut down, or just plain exhausted. You have a story and I'm here to help you heal. When I'm not in session, you'll usually find me making jewelry, lost in a craft project, or hanging out with my two cats (who definitely run the house) or chilling in nature. If you're looking for a grounded, real therapist to walk with you through the hard stuff--I'd be honored to work with you.

In my career spanning over 20 years, 12 of those years have been as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider focusing on outpatient behavioral health. I like to inform clients, that like all humans, I am far from perfect even though I am on the other side of the desk with the answers and knowledge. This helps to build rapport and allows authentic and vulnerable conversations.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
