You may feel desperate, alone, and misunderstood. You feel like you are floating in the bottom of a lake and cannot see the light above you. Everyday, you feel like you are just going through the motions. If this describes you, then I may be the therapist for you. In my nearly twenty years of experience, I have helped people like you reach their potential and achieve the recovery that they needed. There is no set system or quick fix as others may promise, but I will walk down the road with you. My primary focus is on helping you deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I try and help you be okay with things that are beyond your control and work with you to establish yourself as the protagonist in your own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.
I’m a trauma-informed therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting people through their healing journey. I bring deep empathy, compassion, and a holistic approach that honors your mind, body, and spirit.
As a marathoner, I understand the strength it takes to keep going — even when the path feels long. I believe in the power of listening to your intuition and gently rebuilding trust in yourself. A big dog lover, I also bring warmth, presence, and genuine care into every session.
This work is my true purpose, and I feel incredibly grateful to do it. I especially love working with motivated clients who are ready to invest in themselves — those who want to explore different ways of healing, take ownership of their growth, and show up with courage and insight.
If you’ve experienced trauma and are ready to do the meaningful work of healing, I would be truly honored to walk this path with you. You’ve already taken a brave step by being here, and I’m so glad you are.

Together, we’ll unpack what’s been weighing you down, explore new ways of thinking, and build tools that actually work in everyday life. As a former football coach, I have developed an approach to therapy that will allow me to utilize coaching concepts to address the needs of my clients. It encompasses a direct approach to address problems with the a level of understanding and empathy that will support a change in behavior. This works well with my CBT background. Therefore I have branded myself as The Therapy Coach. Which means that I am more than just a therapist to my clients.
Hello! My name is Megan. I'm a licensed mental health therapist in South Carolina and Utah. I have been in the mental health field for approximately 10 years and I have been practicing mental health therapy for approximately 8 years. I specialize in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and adults/professionals struggling with perfectionism and negative self talk.
I am a Colorado and South Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with: individuals in the midst of grief and other major phase-of-life transitions like divorce, job loss, legal challenges, etc.; teenagers who are struggling with a variety of mental health challenges; couples and families that are struggling to find common ground; and fractured families prior to, during, and after divorce. Building strong families, even through divorce or custody battles, incarceration, or other prolonged periods of estrangement, is a particular area of focus for me. I offer reintegration therapy services for parents and children who have experienced short- and long-term separation or alienation. I love working with families who want to find a way to function better post-divorce.
In addition, I spent a decade working for the Alzheimer's Association, which included counseling individuals and families who were facing a diagnosis of dementia.
Prior to venturing into the counseling field, I ran a non-profit that operated a 100-bed homeless shelter, a family transitional housing program, and an eight-unit supportive housing project for Veterans.
I have a heart for working with military veterans and their families -- having 22 years of service in the US Air Force myself. I served on Active Duty for 6 years, and after a break in service, completed another 16 years as a Reservist. My spouse served alongside me, with each of us deploying twice. Our son is currently serving as well. Therefore, I have been the deployed service member, the spouse left to manage things back home, and the mom watching her "baby" deploy to far-off places. There is almost no part of military service I do not understand through first-hand experience.
Welcome! I'm Jerniece,
Take a moment to acknowledge you've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. I have over 10+ years of clinical experience working with diverse populations, including individual, single & blended parents, couples, groups, and families. Years ago, I found myself facing challenges that felt overwhelming. Working with an exceptional therapist helped me heal, grow, and create a life that looked very different from the one I had been living. That experience was so transformative that I returned to graduate school in my 40s to pursue a new path—helping others create meaningful change in their own lives.
Today, with more than 13 years of clinical experience, I help adults navigate trauma, relationship challenges, addiction recovery, identity exploration, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, affirming, and practical. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to take risks, and empowered enough to move toward the life you want.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something different, I would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who specializes in helping individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, and relationship challenges. After completing training in clinical social work and psychology at the University of Maryland (M.S.W., 1988) and Saybrook Institute (Ph.D., 1991), I began practicing as a family, couples and individual therapist. I have hosted on radio/podcasts, have written two books and thousands of self-help articles in my "Life's a Beach" column for nationwide Gannett media. I love working with clients in the here-and-now, and finding solutions to move forward with life. My primary goal is to help you help yourself. I will guide and coach you, not tell you what to do. Diagnostic labels are useful at times, but you are not your labels. I'm your thinking partner: We'll reason and think our way to what makes sense together.
