Hi! I'm Veronica, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15+ years of experience. My professional career has centered around supporting individuals through life transitions and address ways to practice better self care , build coping skills and live the lives they envision for themselves . I am a Perinatal mental health specialist (including pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, pregnancy loss, and reproductive challenges) and trained in both Cognitive Behavior therapy and Interpersonal Therapy-so whatever phase of life you find yourself in, you'll find support, care, and understanding in our time together
You hold it together for everyone — at work, at home, in your relationships — but the weight of it is getting harder to carry. Maybe anxiety keeps your mind racing at 2 a.m., or you're stuck in patterns with substances or behaviors that started as coping but now feel like a trap. Maybe grief, trauma, or a painful chapter you thought you'd moved past keeps surfacing when you least expect it.
I'm Rovin Chonielall, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addiction Specialist with 15 years of experience helping adults find their footing when life feels unmanageable. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction and recovery, and the kind of emotional exhaustion that builds up when you've been running on autopilot for too long.
My approach is direct, holistic, and grounded in what actually works. I draw on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you build skills for managing intense emotions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to challenge the thought patterns keeping you stuck, and Motivational Interviewing to help you connect with your own reasons for change — especially when motivation feels low. I also incorporate mindfulness and solution-focused techniques, because sustainable growth happens when you learn to be present with yourself, not just push through.
What my clients tell me is that therapy with me feels different — honest without being harsh, structured without being rigid. I'm not going to just nod along. I'll meet you where you are, ask the questions that matter, and help you build a life that actually reflects who you want to be.
If you're ready to stop going through the motions and start doing the real work, I'd like to help.

Good Karma to all....
If you’re reading this, you’re probably carrying something heavy — and you may have been carrying it longer than you should have had to. I’m glad you’re here.
I’m an LMFT licensed in both New York and New Jersey, and I work with adults who are navigating some of life’s most emotionally demanding seasons: parenting stress, relationship strain, depression, ADHD, and the kind of high-functioning exhaustion that doesn’t always look like struggle from the outside but absolutely feels like it.
My approach is relational at its core. I believe that healing rarely happens in isolation — it happens in connection. Before any technique or homework assignment, I prioritize building a therapeutic relationship where you actually feel safe enough to be honest. That foundation isn’t just good therapy etiquette; it’s what makes everything else possible.
From there, I draw on a range of evidence-based frameworks — attachment theory, CBT, DBT, and person-centered approaches — tailoring the work to what you specifically need rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. Some clients need tools and structure. Others need space to process and be witnessed. Most need both, at different moments.
I’ve worked with many people who came to therapy after putting it off for a long time — sometimes years. What kept them away was often fear: fear of judgment, fear of being misunderstood, or simply not knowing what therapy was supposed to feel like. I take that seriously. My goal from the very first session is to help you feel less alone in what you’re facing, and more capable of moving through it.
You don’t have to have it figured out before you reach out. That’s what we’re here to do together.
You haven't been feeling like yourself, which is maybe the reason that led you to want to see about getting help. I commend you. There's absolutely nothing wrong with seeking help to work on being a better version of yourself.
I aim to work with you to empower and uplift as well as provide a different perspective. Whether you are looking to work through grief, depression or anxiety I help you hone in on identifying triggers and healthier ways to overcome them.
You are not alone in this journey, together we will explore and set goals that will be achieved. I look forward to being a part of your therapeutic journey.

I have conducted crisis assessments, provided crisis interventions, created, and implemented treatment plans, and discharge plans; in a hospital setting, outpatient services, and in home agencies. As well as provided education: on parenting behavioral issues and healthy relationships. I have facilitated and co-facilitated social skills groups, a psycho-educational group on anger management, and healthy teen/pre-teen dating relationships. I have assisted in observations for functional behavioral analysis reports, data collection, and treatment recommendations for children with behavioral disturbances. Also worked with children, teens, and adults on career exploration and planning.
