You are overwhelmed, overthinking everything, and overfunctioning just to keep things afloat. You are the one everyone relies on, but you are exhausted. You have gotten used to carrying everything for everyone, and if we are being honest, it is costing you your peace, your energy, and often yourself. If this sounds familiar, it is because I hear it all the time. It reflects the lived experiences of most of the clients I work with. In our sessions, we won't just talk about what is happening. We'll get honest about what's driving it and we work to change it. I'll help you notice the patterns that are keeping you stuck and challenge them in real time so that you can build something more sustainable in your actual day-to-day life.

From the outside, it may look like you’re managing life well...showing up for work, relationships, and responsibilities while quietly carrying stress, anxiety, overthinking, or emotional exhaustion underneath it all. Maybe your mind never fully slows down, you feel disconnected from yourself, or you keep finding yourself stuck in the same painful patterns no matter how hard you try to change them alone. The truth is that healing does not happen in isolation. We are not meant to carry everything by ourselves. Real change happens when you have a space where you can feel emotionally safe, understood, and supported without judgment. That's where I come in. I’m a trauma-informed psychotherapist (LPC) and the founder of Profound Minds Psychological Services. I help individuals move beyond survival mode, make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin creating sustainable, transformative, long-lasting emotional and mental healing. My role is to help you make sense of what is happening beneath the surface and begin creating change that actually lasts. Many of the individuals I work with are capable, reflective, and self-aware, yet frustrated that insight alone has not been enough. In our work, we go beyond symptoms and begin identifying the emotional and relational patterns driving them. From there, we work to shift those patterns in a structured, realistic, and sustainable way. This is a space where you do not need to hold everything together or have the right words. You can show up as you are, and we will begin from there.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor for the states of Virginia, Kansas, Missouri, and Pennsylvania, and a Licensed Clinical Supervisor for the state of Virginia, with a passion for helping individuals navigate sex and relationship challenges, mental health disorders, personality disorders, grief, and overall mental wellness. My journey in this field began with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a minor in Psychology from Thiel College, and an Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Germanna Community College. I later earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Pursuing excellence, I became a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist and obtained certification in Suicidology. Over time, my clinical focus has naturally evolved towards specializing in personality disorders and becoming a certified sex and relationship therapist. Known for my transparency, empathy, and a healthy dose of humor, I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and supported. I also enjoy sharing my insights as a contributing author on sex and relationship issues for various online and print publications. Passionate about the importance of self-care, I love to unwind by hiking and camping in the mountains, soaking up the serenity of the ocean, and cherishing time with my family and friends. Despite having three amazing kids, I am (almost) equally obsessed with being a pet mom to my heavyweight feline companion, Perry, and my loveable, always-happy golden retriever, Murphy.

I’m a small-town woman who has navigated life’s joys, transitions, and challenges, including divorce, raising and caring for a child with special needs, loss, love, and the unexpected turns that are part of being human. These experiences have shaped not only who I am, but also the compassion, perspective, and understanding I bring to my work as a therapist and life and wellness coach. I have a passion for connecting with real people facing real challenges. I work with individuals who are looking for more than simply a place to talk; they want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them from living the life they want. I believe meaningful change begins when we feel safe enough to be honest about where we are and hopeful enough to believe that something different is possible. My approach is warm, thoughtful, collaborative, and straightforward. I believe in meeting people where they are, without judgment, while also helping them look honestly at what may be preventing them from moving forward. Together, we can explore patterns, beliefs, relationships, and life experiences, while developing practical tools that support healthier choices, stronger boundaries, greater confidence, and lasting personal growth. I understand that reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I consider it a privilege when someone chooses to share their story with me. My goal is to create a welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, understood, and supported as we work toward greater clarity and a more intentional and fulfilling life. I would welcome the opportunity to connect with you, learn about your story, and explore how I can support you in moving forward. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll often find me traveling with my children, playing pickleball or mah-jongg, or listening to a good podcast.

I am a licensed clinical social worker supporting children, adults, couples, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, addiction, relationship strain, ADHD, mood disorders, and the emotional impact of chronic or complex medical issues. I offer telehealth care and am licensed in Missouri, Texas, and New Jersey. I am warm, steady, and down-to-earth. I want therapy to feel safe and collaborative, not stiff or clinical for its own sake. My work is practical and client-centered: we use what helps you most, including evidence-based therapy, family and school-based skills, 12-step support when addiction is part of the picture, and biblical counseling if that is your preference. My experience includes schools, hospitals, emergency rooms, homes, inpatient and outpatient programs, and community crisis work. I have built programs, supervised students and staff, and trained youth volunteers for a suicide hotline. Those settings showed me how quickly life can change, and how much strength people can find when they are not facing it alone. I am especially committed to clients who feel dismissed by systems—healthcare, housing, or the justice system—and I stay with the work until there is a clearer, more stable path forward.

Hey, I’m Amber. I’m so glad you’re here! I know sometimes it can be pretty scary searching for a therapist who helps you feel known and understood. That is the kind of therapist I strive to be. Let me share a little about myself. I’ve been working in the mental health field for over 11 years now. I worked in community mental health for 10 1/2 of those years before deciding to branch into my own private practice. I am now licensed in Illinois and Missouri. I grew up in a very conservative and religious family, even attending seminary, so I do know those beliefs well. It took me until I was 25 to be brave enough to live my authentic self as a gay individual, knowing it would cost me most of my family and friends. It hasn't been easy, but it has been worth it. It is now my desire to be the support for you that I never had as you live your own truth and tell your own story.

Lying awake at 3 AM while your mind replays everything that went wrong. Dragging through another day with pain nobody else can see. Worrying so much your chest is tight before your feet hit the floor. Feeling nothing where you used to feel something. You've tried pushing through it. Ignoring it. Waiting for it to pass. It isn't working. I'm Bryan Barry, a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years of experience. I help adults with insomnia, chronic pain, anxiety, and depression — problems that feed each other and rarely resolve on their own. Insomnia and pain don't respond to general talk therapy. They respond to specific methods, and those are the methods I use. Most people notice a real difference within the first few weeks. If you're ready to stop managing and start changing, let's talk. Evening and weekend telehealth in Missouri and South Carolina.

For the past 8 years, I have assisted individuals, teens, couples, and families in navigating a variety of concerns, such as general life stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship struggles, and health challenges. I am passionate about mental health and honored to be part of my clients’ journey toward greater self-awareness, acceptance, healing, and meaningful change. Are you feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected or unsure of how to move forward? Together, we can explore what's holding you back, develop coping and regulation strategies and reconnect with parts of yourself you might have lost along the way. I use evidence-based approaches while tailoring therapy to your unique needs, goals, and experiences. My goal is to help you build practical coping, communication and connection skills that bring you peace and can be used beyond the therapy room. My approach is warm, empathetic, and validating while gently holding clients accountable. I believe you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you while offering support and guidance in discovering what works best for you. I’ll be there through the difficult moments, celebrate your growth and wins, and support you as you create a life that feels more authentic and meaningful. If you feel we could be a good fit, I would love to hear from you and learn more about what brings you to therapy.

Hi there, glad you are here! I am an accomplished Clinical Social Worker with over 17 years of experience, licensed in Missouri. I graduated with my Master of Social Work from Missouri State University in 2008 with an emphasis in substance use and trauma. I have many years of experience working with clients with a wide range of concerns from PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, addiction, trauma, OCD, ADHD/ADD, and many others. I have also assisted those with serious mental health issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar, dissociative disorder, traumatic brain injuries and those on the spectrum. I am a Certified Crisis Worker and have been trained in CISM and have been active within the community doing debriefings with first responders and medical professionals. I’m here to walk beside you as you navigate the challenges life has placed in your path. Life can be full of beautiful, joyful moments—but it can also bring seasons of pain, loss, stress, or unexpected change that leave us feeling lost or questioning our place in the world. If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. It takes real strength to reach out for support, and I truly commend you for taking this brave first step toward healing and hope. My therapy style is typically warm, interactive and believe in meeting the client where they are currently at. I believe that everyone should be treated with dignity, respect, compassion, and understanding. I don't believe in labels but that in understanding a diagnosis that fits the symptoms we may be able to find solutions and peace while moving forward. I will walk beside you and be your guide. I want to help you achieve the best version of you that you can be! I look forward to meeting you and taking this journey with you.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals with complex and high acuity mental health needs. My work is grounded in trauma informed and trauma responsive care, with a strong commitment to creating inclusive, affirming spaces for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent clients, and individuals in rural communities. I work across the lifespan, including children (7+), adults, older adults, families, and couples. My approach is collaborative and empowering, centered on the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives and require my clinical expertise. I often describe my role as “working myself out of a job” to help clients build the insight, skills, and confidence needed to advocate for themselves and navigate systems independently. As a trauma specialist, I tailor evidence based interventions to each client’s identities, needs, strengths, and goals. My primary approaches include Somatic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)-(EMDRIA certification pending), Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I also integrate Internal Family Systems informed interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure based strategies, mindfulness, and other approaches as clinically appropriate. I adapt treatment for neurodivergent clients and clients with intellectual or developmental disabilities because therapy should adjust to the person and not require the person to adjust to therapy. I am continually shaped by the courage, insight, and lived experiences clients bring into our work. Every advanced training, specialty, certification, and state license reflect lessons learned from clients. I carry their trust, stories, and influence into every session with gratitude and responsibility. I am interested in helping you through life's struggles and setting goals for the future. I'm also here to guide and support you through difficult experiences. I am here to listen because sometimes you may need to share when life changes or need help processing what has happened. I want to be there for you even when the day is neither good or bad. I help people who feel overwhelmed by anger, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, shame, grief, or difficult seasons of life. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns they do not like: saying things they regret, replaying conversations, avoiding people, feeling like they are failing, or carrying pain that they have tried hard to keep hidden. Before opening my private practice, I founded Coyote Hill and spent more than 33 years working with foster children, families, and people in crisis. That experience shaped the way I work now: calm, practical, honest, and compassionate. I do not believe therapy should feel mysterious or judgmental. My goal is to help you understand what is happening, why it keeps happening, and what you can begin doing differently. One line that has stayed with me is, “We are all just walking each other home.” To me, that is part of what therapy can be: a steady place where you do not have to carry everything alone, and where we move toward clarity, healing, and the next right step. We cannot change the past, but we can work on how you respond in the present and how you move forward with more steadiness, self-respect, and hope.

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Missouri. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Missouri from Saint Louis to Springfield! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Missouri.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Trauma and PTSD, is filtering therapists in Missouri that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
