I have been working in the substance use and mental health field for 10 + years.
You have taken the first step which can be the biggest struggle looking into finding help. I am proud of anyone who does that.
First session
In our first session, we’ll take the time to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your presenting situation, how you feel about therapy, your strengths, and any barriers you may face. I’ll also ask how I can best support you and what you hope to accomplish through therapy.
Strengths
I take a person-centered approach to therapy, while also drawing from a variety of therapeutic methods. Together, we’ll find the techniques that work best for you. My goal is to support you in achieving yours, whether that means processing emotions, building coping skills, or addressing your unique needs.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, relationship difficulties, trauma, self-esteem concerns, and challenges related to emotional regulation. I work well with clients who may feel “stuck,” misunderstood, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of how to move forward, but who are open to exploring their experiences in a supportive and nonjudgmental space. My approach is especially helpful for individuals who want therapy that feels collaborative, compassionate, and person-centered rather than overly rigid or clinical. I strive to meet clients where they are emotionally and help them build insight, coping skills, healthier communication patterns, and greater confidence in managing daily life. I also enjoy working with teens and young adults who may struggle expressing emotions, navigating social relationships, managing anxiety, or coping with family stressors and change. I incorporate evidence-based strategies from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions while tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs, personality, and goals. My goal is to help clients feel heard, supported, empowered, and capable of creating meaningful and lasting change in their lives.
Treatment methods
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I take a person-centered approach to therapy, which means I believe each individual has the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change when provided with a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. My role as a therapist is to create a space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood through empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I strive to meet clients where they are emotionally and therapeutically, recognizing that they are the experts of their own lives. Through collaboration and trust, I support clients in exploring their experiences, increasing self-awareness, and working toward meaningful personal goals at their own pace.
