Hi, I’m Joe. I’ve worked in the mental health field for 27 years across substance use treatment, outpatient care, and hospital settings. I’ve supported individuals and families through crisis, transition, and long-term growth. I work well with young adults, adults, and families who are navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, or major life changes. I also have extensive experience working with men who may struggle to express emotions directly and instead feel stuck in withdrawal, irritability, or self-doubt. As a veteran, I understand the mindset and pressures that can come with military life. Across all of my work, I aim to provide a grounded, steady presence where honesty, insight, and meaningful change can take place.

Hello! I'm Jennifer and I am a 52 y/o Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Chicago, IL (cis/het.) I don't use the AI transcription. I have worked in community mental health (13+ years) and as a private therapist (4 years) totaling 17 years in the field. I have experience with significant mental illness, trauma (esp. sexual and domestic violence recovery), and life transitions (finishing college, relationship changes, menopause, etc.) I work with individuals (teens and adults) and couples. I am an accredited trauma therapist (APT) and I am trained in Narrative Therapy. Additionally, I am a "nerd" therapist. I want to hear about what you read, watch, play, etc. We can talk about cosplay and conventions and the like. I like to draw parallels between real life challenges and the stories that we read in books and see on TV and movies (you can expect me to mention the following: INSIDE OUT, ENCANTO, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, X-FILES, STAR WARS, STAR TREK, DOCTOR WHO, the MCU, etc, as well as the whole hero’s journey that we all take.) And I want to hear what stories keep you inspired and motivated. I want to know what you enjoy and feel passionate about. Our primary focus will be on what has brought you to therapy and what you want to work on but I know that there are many paths to these goals. As Tolkien said, “Not all who wander are lost.” So, we might wander a bit but we will wander together. At some point, during our virtual session, you will probably see one or both of my cats and your pets are welcome as well. Trans/queer friendly and welcoming. Welcome! There is no beauty in "settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." It is time to be courageous and see what might be causing you to settle. Hi, I’m Lucretia! I’m a therapist in Illinois, and I work exclusively via telehealth. I’m here to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and respected—just as you are. My practice is rooted in a firm belief that everyone is worthy of love, respect, and understanding. I value authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness, both for myself and my clients, and I consider these qualities essential for meaningful therapy. I also believe in the power of laughter to ease even the heaviest conversations. Humor can open doors to deeper insight, so I use it thoughtfully and often! In our sessions, I aim to normalize and validate your experiences, no matter where you’re coming from, without judgment. My goal is to help you tap into your unique strengths and work through whatever might be holding you back. Therapy is a powerful tool, and I’ve witnessed its transformative impact on my clients’ lives, as well as in my own. I’ve leaned on therapy through my nearly 10 years in the field and through personal challenges, including loss and the experience of caretaking for a terminal illness. If you’re navigating anxiety, depression, or trauma-related struggles, I’d love the chance to work with you. I’m passionate about supporting women ages 20+ who are finding their footing in the world, going through life transitions (divorce, career changes, becoming a parent, etc.), though I work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Many of my clients struggle with relationship problems, histories of childhood traumatic experiences, abuse, or self-worth issues. I’m here to meet you wherever you’re at. My aim is to help you create a present that feels free from the shadows of past experiences, with a future that’s built on self-acceptance, resilience, and, of course, a little bit of laughter.

I’m Sarah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Air Force veteran, and I help adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply tired of being the one who always has it together. Maybe you’ve been functioning on the outside while struggling on the inside. You’re getting through work, relationships, family responsibilities, and everyday life—but you feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, stuck, or unlike yourself. Maybe you’re struggling with a past experience that still affects you, questioning your self-worth, navigating a difficult relationship, or trying to figure out what comes next. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I provide warm, compassionate, and practical therapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, burnout, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. I especially enjoy working with women, veterans, and individuals who are accustomed to putting everyone else first while quietly struggling themselves. My approach is collaborative and individualized. I use evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, trauma-informed therapy, and mindfulness, while tailoring treatment to your unique experiences and goals. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely heard—but also a place where you gain practical tools that you can actually use between sessions. You don’t need to wait until things become unbearable to reach out. You also don’t need to know exactly what you need before starting therapy. Sometimes the first step is simply having a safe place to say, “I’m not okay, and I don’t know what to do next.” Together, we can work toward feeling more confident in yourself, understanding your emotions, improving your relationships, setting healthier boundaries, processing what you’ve been carrying, and creating a life that feels more manageable and meaningful. If you’re ready to stop carrying everything by yourself, I’d be honored to help.

Hello there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Chicago, IL. I received my Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis and have been practicing for 6 years now. I got into this field because I wanted to change the world. While I may not be able to do this alone, I will do all that I can to support my clients and help them to change theirs. Life is tough but we are resilient; sometimes, we just need the opportunity to feel seen and heard in a warm, safe, nonjudgmental space to remind ourselves of that - that is exactly what I strive to give to each of my clients. I absolutely love working with adults ready to take that next step into change. Maybe you've spent months or even years feeling like you were stuck. It can be very difficult to know where to start or how to sort things out on your own. Despite these feelings, maybe you feel like there's a possibility that things could be different. I'm here to tell you that it is and reconnecting to a meaningful life is not as far away as it may seem. If you're ready to get back to yourself and work towards your goals, I am here, ready to partner with you and help guide you there.

Hi! I'm Dena (she/her). I have 15 years experience and truly love my vocation! I enjoy empowering individuals to achieve their goals and live their best lives. I believe everyone has the ability to heal, sometimes we all need a little help. I am passionate about the power of therapy to aid people in living their best, most authentic lives. I live on the tristate border and provide remote therapy for persons in Illinois and Iowa. An Iowa native, I spent about a decade living and working in SoCal and Phoenix before returning to the Midwest to be with my (now) husband and step kids. Yes, I left sunny San Diego, in December, for the snowy Midwest! The things we’ll do for love! I have personally benefitted greatly from therapy. I am Bi/queer, have ADHD, and several physical disabilities, all of which were diagnosed after college. Therapy helped me develop much needed coping skills so I could be successful in grad school and beyond. Therapy also helped me with the intense stressors related to being a young professional during the Great Recession. I continue to utilize therapy as part of my self care routine. If you are coping with symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self worth, or concerns related to ADHD or chronic health conditions, I would love the opportunity to work with you. I would love to help you to achieve a present no longer overshadowed by past traumas, negative self talk, or uncontrolled anxiety.

Hi, I’m Dr. DeAnna (Dee) Brookhart. If you’re here, chances are life feels heavier than it should. Maybe stress won’t let up, anxiety keeps you on edge, or sadness has dulled your energy. Perhaps your relationship feels strained, or addiction has taken more space than you want it to. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to carry it by yourself. I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois, Wisconsin and Utah, and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor with nearly 30 years of experience. Over the years, I’ve supported individuals, couples, and families through struggles like anxiety, depression, addiction, marital or couples issues, workplace trauma, and the challenges of blended family life. I also work with clients navigating personality struggles or the lasting effects of stress and trauma. My approach is warm and collaborative. We’ll clarify what matters most to you, set realistic goals, and work at a pace that feels safe. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused strategies — always adapted to your needs. Sessions with me often include open conversation, practical coping tools, encouragement, and sometimes even humor when it helps ease the weight. I see healing as holistic. That means looking at not only your thoughts and emotions, but also how stress shows up in your body, how you connect with others, and how your daily habits shape your well-being. I work best with adults and couples ready to make changes, even if they’re not sure where to start. Outside the office, I love cooking, reading, traveling to the beach, and spending time with my family. I have ADORABLE grandkids! And of course Charlie, my Golden Retriever. If you’re ready to feel lighter, find clarity, and rebuild what matters most, I’d be honored to walk that path with you.

Hello! I'm Alyssa Norbeck and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Illinois. I understand that it can feel vulnerable and intimidating to begin therapy, but I'm passionate about making therapy a safe space where you feel heard and understood. My therapeutic style is empathetic, nonjudgemental, and individualized. I draw upon a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities (such as CBT, ACT, ERP, and EMDR) to help you reach your goals. I received my Master's in Social Work from USC. I've worked with a variety of age groups presenting with a range of clinical issues in both individual and group settings, including private practice, mental health and substance use intensive outpatient programs (IOP), crisis management and stabilization, Employee Assistance Programs, and in skilled nursing facilities/long term care. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my dog, gardening, crafting, and kayaking.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
