(she/her)
Hi my name is Cynthia! I earned my bachelor degrees from DePaul University, where I majored in Psychology. I earned my master’s degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration with clinical counseling. I have a tremendous amount of experience working with adolescents, families and adults. I look forward working with you and helping you achieve your goals.
Therapy is a working relationship where difficulty topics are being discussed. In order for the trust to be built the first session is a simple getting to know each other and fleshing out what goals want to be achieved. Clients are reminded that this does not mean that they have to discuss their trauma in detail and that we have time and can take it slowly.
As a child of immigrants I have the cultural awareness when speaking to Latin X adolescents and young adults. For Spanish speaking families I am able to provide a safe space to share their experiences in their own language.
I am intimately familiar with how stress can impact a person’s academic, social, and emotional life. Because of this experience I look forward to working with young adults, adolescents and families.

I am a firm believer that the if we understand our motivations that lead to core beliefs and behaviors we understand how we can change our behaviors and that in turn lead to healthier choices and improved relationships.
