A Christian Counselor who counsels with an open Bible during the session. I serve individuals grappling with intrusive negative thoughts, shame, and guilt from past decisions and the lack of clarity about their God-given purpose. Do you experience emotional breakdowns, increased stress, and sleepless nights? Do you often fight to quiet or chase away the persistent inner thoughts/voices? It can be down-right SCARY as uncontrollable anxiety and spiritual uncertainty set in, leaving you to wonder, “Where is God?” “Why is this happening to me?” and crying out, “I just want it to stop!” When positive self-talk, distraction, and deep breathing are not working, you need to find a different kind of therapy. Christian counseling, which utilizes Biblical instructions from God, focuses on dealing with all aspects of mental health. The Bible is true, and scientific discoveries continue to support what God has been telling us. Let's remove the distracting emotional states of worry, fear, and pain so you can focus on life. You can engage in enjoyable activities again with doubt or apprehension. If you are done with all the annoying, catastrophizing negative thoughts that keep you from enjoying life or rob you of sleep at night, I want to encourage you - you don’t have to live this way. Reach out to me TODAY. I offer a FREE 20-minute CONSULTATION if you still have questions. Just message me or email me and we can set that up! Start experiencing peace and joy today!

Hi! I'm Dena (she/her). I have 15 years experience and truly love my vocation! I enjoy empowering individuals to achieve their goals and live their best lives. I believe everyone has the ability to heal, sometimes we all need a little help. I am passionate about the power of therapy to aid people in living their best, most authentic lives. I live on the tristate border and provide remote therapy for persons in Illinois and Iowa. An Iowa native, I spent about a decade living and working in SoCal and Phoenix before returning to the Midwest to be with my (now) husband and step kids. Yes, I left sunny San Diego, in December, for the snowy Midwest! The things we’ll do for love! I have personally benefitted greatly from therapy. I am Bi/queer, have ADHD, and several physical disabilities, all of which were diagnosed after college. Therapy helped me develop much needed coping skills so I could be successful in grad school and beyond. Therapy also helped me with the intense stressors related to being a young professional during the Great Recession. I continue to utilize therapy as part of my self care routine. If you are coping with symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self worth, or concerns related to ADHD or chronic health conditions, I would love the opportunity to work with you. I would love to help you to achieve a present no longer overshadowed by past traumas, negative self talk, or uncontrolled anxiety.

I hold a Clinical Psychologist license to practice in Illinois. I completed my doctorate studies at Adler University. My professional experience in treatment spans over 25 years. I believe a person holds the ability to transform their life for the better. I find satisfaction in helping them advance on their path. The following examples show my methods for treating anxiety and depression. The evidence-based treatment method I use for anxiety focuses on individualized symptom-specific approaches that match the client’s needs and personal preferences. The combination of repetitive and irrational thoughts about perceived danger, uncertainty or failure creates distressing mental states which may manifest as negative thought, such as: "I am not good enough" or "something bad will happen" or "I will be fired if I make a mistake." I assist my clients to detect and fight their negative beliefs and thoughts. I guide clients to manage their anxiety symptoms with mindfulness breathing techniques and progressive muscle relaxation methods. With assigned homework including mindfulness exercises, I guide the client to maintain their progress and self-regulation between sessions. My depression treatment approach matches each client's symptoms, their life history, and their social environment. Depression exists on a spectrum from temporary sadness to persistent and severe Major Depressive Disorder. The maintenance of depression relies on negative thoughts such as “I am worthless” or “Nothing will ever get better.” Our focus will be to identify and modify. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I help clients view their depressive thoughts in a non-judgmental manner to reduce their rumination and emotional distress. By teaching problem solving skills and the practice of mindfulness helps the individual become more aware of their physical tension. Assigning homework guides the individual to improve sleep hygiene, self-care, and build effective coping strategies.

As a provider, I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to counseling, rooted in my own experiences as a wife, mother to two wonderful children, and lover of animals. I understand the challenges of balancing family life, personal growth, and the stresses that come with both. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master's degree in Social Work and currently work full-time as a school social worker, where I have the privilege of supporting students through life's challenges. My passion for helping others extends beyond the school setting, which is why I am excited to offer supportive online counseling with the goal of eventually opening an in-person practice to further serve my community. In my free time, I enjoy watching my children play sports and spending time outdoors during the summer months. However, I also love cozying up indoors with a good book or favorite TV show. These personal interests help me relate to the balance of work, family, and self-care that many clients face. I am eager to expand my work from the school environment into the broader community, offering a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their challenges and grow towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Hi! My name is Jacqueline Lizarazo, and I go by Jackie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in therapy for individuals, children, and couples, with a focus on grief, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and sexual abuse. Why Choose Me: I want you to read the following passages: On Abuse: “I lived in a glass house into which my mother could look at any time. In a glass house, however, you cannot conceal anything without giving yourself away, except by hiding it under the ground. And then you cannot see it yourself, either.” On Depression: “Trees aren’t supposed to display fruit; they’re supposed to produce it. As much as I wanted to see results, I knew that I had to wait. The tree had to become healthy and mature before it could produce the fruit, and that takes time.” If what you read resonates with you, this is the type of therapy I offer. I push, and sometimes might make you cry—not to harm, but for growth. I deeply care about my patients and only want the best for you. I am not judgmental; I am here to listen and provide feedback. I often ask myself the question: if I were sitting where you are, would I come back? And the answer is yes. I give homework, so don’t expect it to be easy unless we need it to be. I am flexible, and my schedule is pretty open to fit your needs. We’re going to have days where we just catch up and talk about what happened that week but be prepared to talk about your past. I believe together we can grow into the person you want to be.

Hi, I am Jenn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Telemental Health Provider, and the owner of Epijennetics Counseling and Consulting in Libertyville, Illinois. Epijennetics Counseling is located just outside of downtown Libertyville off of Milwaukee Avenue in Forum Square. You can read more about my work and practice at www.epijennetics.com. As a therapist, I hold the belief that we cannot fully understand mental health without first understanding the impact of our stories, our relationships, and our beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world. I am passionate about helping clients increase their self-awareness of these things so that they are more in touch with their feelings, needs, and desires, and are more equipped with the knowledge and tools to create the life that they want. By utilizing assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to better understand personality and the Young Schema Assessment to explore harmful thoughts and beliefs that came from previous experiences and messages received during childhood years, I help clients discover hidden obstacles that keep them from having the life they dream of. I have found that when we put in the work to make sense of ourselves and our stories, we not only heal and grow ourselves but also develop more compassion and increased understanding of others. Often this growth and healing process lessens mental health symptoms such as anxiety and depression and improves overall quality of life, as well as relationship quality. If you are interested in doing some exploring, I would love to hear from you! (Please make an in-office appointment if you are booking Couple or Family therapy sessions.)

I’m Dr. LaTia Greer, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and trauma specialist with over 25 years of experience in mental health and wellness. At Authentic Heart Behavioral Health & Wellness, I provide a safe, compassionate space for clients to heal, grow, and reclaim their sense of balance. My work is deeply rooted in the belief that you don’t have to face life’s struggles alone—healing becomes possible when you feel seen, heard, and supported. I specialize in helping individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as those who feel overwhelmed by the challenge of setting and maintaining healthy boundaries. Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck in cycles of stress, guilt, or self-doubt. Together, we explore what’s underneath those struggles and build practical, evidence-based strategies to create real change. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed practices, mindfulness, and integrative therapy to fit your unique needs. That means we’ll not only focus on symptom relief but also on deeper emotional healing—supporting you in reconnecting with yourself and building resilience for the future. Clients often tell me that therapy with me feels like a balance of gentle guidance and real-world tools they can apply right away. Hello, and thank you for taking a moment to get to know me. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience, and my counseling is built on both professional training and a strong foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. I believe lasting healing and peace come when we bring our struggles to Him and align our lives with His truth. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families through many different seasons of life. A large part of my work has been with those experiencing anxiety—helping clients uncover what triggers their fears, offering practical tools for managing anxious thoughts, and reminding them of God’s promises of peace and strength. I also enjoy walking alongside couples and individuals who are navigating relationship challenges. Communication is often one of the hardest hurdles, and I help clients learn to listen with grace, speak with honesty, and build stronger, Christ-centered connections. In addition, I work with youth and young adults as they face the pressures of growing up, making big decisions, and finding their way. It is such a joy to guide them toward wisdom, confidence, and faith in who God created them to be. I deeply value working with older adults, helping them navigate transitions, loss, or the unique challenges of aging while holding onto the hope and purpose God gives in every season of life. No matter your age or situation, my heart is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and encouraged. Together, we will seek God’s wisdom and develop practical steps to help you move forward with greater peace, purpose, and hope.

Hello. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to read my profile amongst the many that are out there. With over 20 years of experience as a professional counselor, I've had the privilege of guiding individuals, children to older adult population, through diverse life challenges. My journey as a therapist has taught me that growth and healing are possible at any age. I'm dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space where you can explore your concerns and develop the tools you need to thrive. I’m not a ‘sit and nod’ therapist, I enjoy a dynamic approach with my clients. I believe in a holistic, client-centered approach that blends traditional therapy with innovative strategies. My passion lies in empowering individuals to discover their strengths and create meaningful change. I understand that each person is unique, and I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs. My practice is grounded in the belief that true healing comes from discovering your authentic self. I believe that an over reliance on labels can be a source of stress and limit personal growth. I focus on helping you unhook from those external definitions and embrace the present, allowing you to live more freely and authentically.

Throughout my career I have worked with clients of all ages. I primarily use person centered techniques, but I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness depending on the client. What that looks like is different for everyone, but I want to help you find your own unique path. During our first session I will ask you to share some background information with me. It can be difficult to share, so please know that my number one goal is to give you a safe, nonjudgemental space to open up. Life Transitions

Navigating grief and life transitions are integral parts of the therapeutic journey. Coping with loss, whether it's the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or other significant changes, can be incredibly challenging. Similarly, life transitions such as career changes, moving to a new city, or adjusting to parenthood can evoke a range of emotions and uncertainties. As your therapist, I provide support and guidance through these experiences for children, adults, and even fellow therapists. I help you process your emotions, find meaning in your grief, and adapt to life's transitions. Together, we can explore strategies for coping with loss, managing change, and fostering resilience. By acknowledging and addressing grief and life transitions in therapy, we can create a safe space for healing and growth. Whether you're grappling with loss, facing a major life change, or simply seeking support during a challenging time, know that you don't have to navigate these experiences alone. I'm here to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and personal transformation.

I’m not the kind of therapist who just listens quietly—I believe therapy should give you practical tools you can use in your daily life. My hope is that, over time, you’ll feel confident and resilient enough that you no longer need therapy at all. When you’re caught in cycles of overthinking, it can feel like you’re solving problems—but often it’s just your mind’s way of keeping you stuck. The way out isn’t more thinking, it’s movement—whether that’s physical, emotional, or spiritual. And it doesn’t have to be big. Even the smallest step forward can start to shift the pattern and open the door to change. If your mind is racing, or you feel trapped in panic, anxiety, or self-doubt—you don’t have to stay in that place alone. I help people slow down, calm their nervous system, and find clarity again, even when life feels overwhelming. We don’t have to fix everything in one conversation. Gentle, steady support can help your body shift out of fight-or-flight and back into balance. You don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I’ll sit with you through it, and together we’ll build the steps that help you feel grounded, stronger, and more at ease. I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois. I specialize in helping people navigate anxiety, OCD, life transitions, burnout, low self-esteem, and tough emotions like anger. My approach is practical, brain-based, and rooted in compassion.

I want to make therapy as comfortable as possible. Coming to therapy can be an intimidating process. The last thing people want is some stuffy, uptight professional that makes people feel like they need to censor themselves. I pride myself in being warm, friendly, and relatable. I view therapy as a collaboration between the therapist and client. I will do my best to make your therapy experience positive. My role is to listen, teach, support, and collaborate with my clients. I have worked in a variety of settings since embarking on my journey as a mental health clinician including hospice care, domestic violence, community mental health, intensive outpatient, and urgent mental healthcare. My preference is to work with mature adolescents and adults of all ages both in person and virtually.
