I am a Doctor of Psychology, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Illinois. I am the author of the best-selling self-help book How to Be a Mental Health Savage. I am an avid mental health advocate who aims to reduce mental health stigma globally. I focus on a holistic approach to mental health improvement through intellectual stimulation, relationship restructuring, diet restructuring, and exercise. My extensive experience includes working with acute trauma care and counseling co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse). I also provide custody evaluations, FOID appeal evaluations, and juvenile forensic evaluations.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will inquire about current/past stressors, formulate an initial diagnosis, analyze your physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and financial well-being, and create a concrete treatment plan based on your strengths.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in addiction, trauma, depression , anxiety, divorce/breakups and difficult life transitions. For instance, trauma may happen as a result of a toxic relationship and it imperative to heal before transitioning into the next relationship. Remember, it is okay to be yourself, live with intention, and trust your instincts. It never fails.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Young adults to retirees who are going through difficult life transitions.
