(he/him)
I possess a doctorate in Psychology, serve as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and hold the certification of Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Illinois. I am the author of the best-selling self-help publication titled "How to Be a Mental Health Savage." I am a dedicated advocate for mental health awareness with the objective of diminishing mental health stigma on a global scale. My approach to mental health enhancement emphasizes a holistic perspective, incorporating intellectual stimulation, relationship restructuring, dietary modifications, and physical activity. My comprehensive experience encompasses acute trauma care, counseling for co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse), as well as conducting custody evaluations, FOID appeal assessments, immigration mental health evaluations, and juvenile forensic evaluations.
In our first session, I will inquire about current/past stressors, formulate an initial diagnosis, analyze your physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and financial well-being, and create a concrete treatment plan based on your strengths.
I specialize in addiction, trauma, depression , anxiety, divorce/breakups and difficult life transitions. For instance, trauma may happen as a result of a toxic relationship and it imperative to heal before transitioning into the next relationship. Remember, it is okay to be yourself, live with intention, and trust your instincts. It never fails.
I see young adults to retirees who are going through difficult life transitions.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Existential therapy to help balance interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and mindfulness with a sense of purpose.
