I want to hear about preferences for therapy so that I can offer the support you're looking for. I will just listen if that is what would be most helpful. I can also offer solutions and feedback. Each person's needs will be different so we will determine all of your needs together one session at a time. It is about communicating what is working or what is not working and adjusting accordingly.
In the first session, I will be completing an assessment by asking a variety of questions to get to know you better. This will help me determine what you might be struggling with and what support would be the most helpful for you. You can let me know any preferences you have as well.
I will consistently check in with you, whether it is about how you're feeling, about the progress of skills, and about any support that might be helpful.
I'd like to work with clients in individual and couples therapy that are open and willing to participate in therapy. It is also helpful when there is an active willingness to practice skills in day to day life to help provide them with more support. Finally, when clients are willing to reflect on what is and is not helpful for them.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use a variety of therapy approaches depending on what is needed and what would help the most. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person centered therapy, mindfulness, and solution focused therapy. I am here to listen and support. I am also here to provide feedback and skills/potential solutions if that is requested. I want you to let me know what you are looking for and what would be the most helpful. If you do not know the answer, that is okay, we will determine the next steps together.
