Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Florida. I received my Masters from Nova Southeastern University and have been practicing for 30+ years. I help adults develop lasting skills that empower them to navigate life's challenges with confidence. My approach is grounded in empathy and respect, empowering individuals to break through barriers, embrace change, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

I am caring, compassionate, and a very good listener. I am a Christian, wife of a Veteran, mother, and grandmother. My heritage is Caribbean-American. I grew up in South Florida with four sisters and two brothers. I was very independent at a very young age and willing to help out wherever. I am a musician starting with piano in elementary school, then clarinet in middle school, and bass clarinet and bassoon in high school. I love music and find it beneficial in every aspect of life. I decided to grow my family before pursuing a career. I decided to pursue a career in the mental health field because of a family member being diagnosed with a severe mental health disorder. I earned my AA in Psychology, then a dual degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science. After my undergrad, I went on to receive my master's in social work. I have worked with Veterans, homeless, hospice, young adults, children, elders, couples and individuals with severe mental health diagnoses. In my pursuit to help my family member, I became even more passionate about mental health and reducing the negative stigma attached to it. This passion I share with everyone I encounter.

I have worked as a counselor in Florida since 1983 and have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 1988. I have worked in numerous inpatient and outpatient settings, gaining experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am confident I can help you with anxiety, depression, substance use, anger, ADHD, and other concerns. In addition to counseling, I love spending quiet time in nature (woods, beach, mountains), visiting art museums and galleries, and getting some exercise. For me, these are quiet episodes of escape from the challenges of life. I also love live music, but not because it's quiet.

I am an Army Veteran and Licenced Mental Health Counselor and I specialize in trauma resolution. I have almost 2 decades of experience working with military and first responders who are struggling with PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, and TBI. I have specialized training in a unique brain optimization technique called The Cortina Method, mainly used with trauma resolution but with protocols for self-limiting beliefs, chronic pain, and unresolved guilt. I have additional specialized training in ketogenic nutritional interventions for mental health disorders. I am also trained in Rapid Resolution Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

I attended the University of Chicago for my BA and Loyola University of Chicago for my MSW. I have worked in multiple settings, including healthcare, the Veterans Administration, adoption, and general outpatient mental health and relationships. I provide a non-judgmental, supportive environment for clients to address their issues.
