Over the past 15 years, I have been steeped in Somatic modalities aimed at healing the mind-body connection. Beginning with an interest in meditation, I followed the thread through studies in yoga therapy, yoga nidra, shamanic practices/nature ritual, trauma-release exercises, grief process co-facilitation, to completing my Masters in Somatic Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. I am trained in EMDR and the Attachment Based Family Therapy model (ABFT), and have worked with hundreds of clients struggling with a wide range of challenges including complex trauma, anxiety, depression, dissociation, and relationship/family conflict. I love connecting with people and listening through to their longing for healing. I have a knack for holding multiple perspectives within complex relationships, and collaborating to resolve blockages that impede connection with oneself and the world.

Hi, my name is Reyno Acoba, LMFT. I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2008 in the state of California. I am an interactive, solution-focused therapist. I work with a wide range of emotional & behavioral issues that span from therapy for anxiety, depression, grief counseling, parenting support, and beyond.
As a Multi-Cultural Counselor with 28 years of experience, I specialize in helping clients better manage their anxiety, depression, grief and loss issues, resolve conflicts with their significant other, improve parenting skills with their children, and develop a balance between life and work activities. I also provide counseling for college students who are not doing well academically and socially with their peers in school. My approach is to provide support and feedback to help clients address personal life challenges. With compassion and understanding, I work with individuals to build on their strengths and attain the growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Therapy has been an important part of my own life, and I know how much healing can happen within a relationship where we feel—and are—genuinely understood. It is my experience that people rarely fit into simple explanations. We each arrive with a history, ways of coping that developed for a reason, and our own sense of what a meaningful life looks like. I approach each person with genuine respect and curiosity, without assuming I already know what their experiences mean or what is right for them. I want to understand the fuller story of who you are—not just the difficulty that brought you to therapy. From that understanding, we can look honestly at what is happening and determine what meaningful, lasting change looks like for you.
Many people come to therapy because they’re struggling with something specific, while others arrive with a more difficult-to-name feeling that something isn’t quite right. They may feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, navigating a difficult relationship, grieving a loss, or simply sensing that something isn’t working the way it once did.
I offer a space where you can show up as you are without needing to have everything figured out. I have worked extensively with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families through some of life’s most difficult and meaningful transitions. My approach is thoughtful, relational, and collaborative. Together, we’ll make sense of your experiences, explore the patterns that shape your life, and create space for greater understanding, growth, and change.

Hello, and thank you for reading my bio. I'm Claudia Rivas, LCSW — licensed clinical social worker, clinical supervisor, and somatic therapist dedicated to deep, intersectional healing.
When you're living with intense or long-standing PTSD, traditional talk therapy can feel like it only scratches the surface — because healing requires addressing how trauma lives in the nervous system, not just in your story. In my practice, I blend the body-centered approach of Somatic Experiencing with practical, grounding tools from talk therapy, including CBT, DBT, and solution-focused interventions.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) fluent in both English and Spanish. With a passion for helping people navigate life's challenges, I have been dedicated to the mental health field since 2017, working with adults and children from diverse communities. I embarked on my journey in mental healthcare driven by a deep desire to make a positive impact in people's lives. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from California State University, Bakersfield, which equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide effective therapy services.
I believe that even in the middle of a crisis, there is a real opportunity for growth. My path began in the theater and the study of Method Acting. This discipline focuses on how internal experience drives outward behavior. I apply this "inside-out" perspective to help you align your internal reality with your external actions. My way of working has evolved over time. I attended top universities and training programs. I was mentored by experts in the origins of trauma, addictions, and relationship difficulties. This foundation allowed me to build a successful group practice in Orange County. During that time, I taught at UC Irvine, chaired the Professional Practice Committee of the Orange County Psychological Association, and sat on its Board of Directors. In the midst of this success, I experienced a personal crisis and divorce. This led me on my own journey of growth. I began an extensive study of Buddhism and meditation which now guides how I live. I spent seven years living in Asia, where I studied with monks and cared for villagers.
What I offer now is an integration of strong academic training and Eastern teachings. My decision to become a psychologist grew from a desire to relieve suffering and transform challenges into opportunities for growth. I combine empirical psychological methods with the cultivation of an "awakened heart"—a state of genuine presence and social connection. I work to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with five years of experience providing individual therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions. I am deeply committed to helping clients heal emotionally, build resilience, and reconnect with their sense of worth and purpose. My passion for this work is rooted in lived experience. Moving to Nigeria at the age of six, losing my father at twelve, and later experiencing the loss of my newborn taught me firsthand about grief, strength, and the importance of compassionate support. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, understood, and empowered. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients move from feeling overwhelmed or stuck toward clarity, emotional balance, and meaningful personal growth.
