LMFT, 8 years of experience
Hi! My name is Emily and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in CA (#101706) and TX (#205875) with over eight years of experience supporting adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, and relationship challenges. My approach draws from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and relational therapies, as well as the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), a trauma-informed modality focused on nervous system regulation and identity development. I earned my master’s in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University and have worked in treatment centers, group practices, schools, non-profits, and community mental health. I also co-founded two mental health businesses. I create a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore patterns rooted in past experiences, increase self-awareness, and reconnect with their innate capacity for presence and growth. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy running, cooking, spending time in nature, and going to live music events.
In our first session (or two), I will provide some information, get to know you through a formal assessment, see if you have questions, and collaborate on treatment goals. I find the first few sessions to be crucial in setting up the framework of therapy and our therapeutic relationship for success. Once we complete your assessment and identify your treatment goals, our exploration begins.
I believe that everyone has the ability to live with more presence, self-acceptance, and aliveness, but unintegrated pain and maladaptive patterns—though once helpful or life-saving—often block this potential. I often attend to and use whatever may arise in a session as a rich opportunity for real-time healing.
I enjoy helping adults (18+) identify what they need and want most, explore what gets in the way, and deepen their self-knowledge
