Hi! I'm a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I received my master's from the University of California, Sacramento State, and have been practicing for 10 years. I help Individuals who are committed to personal growth and have a strong desire to explore their inner world and make positive changes. Are you someone who is ready to take a brave step towards emotional wellness and personal growth? Do you seek a compassionate guide to help you navigate through life's challenges? If this sounds like you, then you might just be my dream client!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
In our sessions, we will work together to uncover your strengths, address your challenges, and create a personalized path to a more fulfilling life. I am here to support you with empathy, understanding, and a toolbox of effective therapeutic strategies.
I love working with adolescents and adults that are dealing with anxiety, stress, or past trauma, and looking for ways to find peace and harmony in their life. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their life and decision making.
Hosson Hooper offers therapy covered by Central California Alliance for Health (Medi-Cal), Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal, L.A. As a therapist, I strive to help clients gain deep insight into their emotional and psychological processes. The techniques I use are exploring past experiences, identifying patterns in thoughts and behaviors, and understanding emotional responses. The overall goal is to help clients gain self-awareness and resolve deep-seated issues. I have a strong commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their inner thoughts and emotions, and to meet each client’s unique needs.
As a therapist, I use MI to help individuals find their motivation to make positive behavioral changes by listening carefully and understanding the clients' feelings and experiences. I tend to use open-ended question to encourage clients to talk about their thoughts and feelings in detail. The benefits to using MI, is that it is very client centered and very empowering. I love the fact that clients' can focus on their own motivation and goals, and it helps clients take responsibility for their own change.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining Strength Base and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and elements of psychodynamic therapy. This allows me to tailor my methods to each client’s unique needs, promoting both immediate relief and long-term growth. The focus of my approach is creating a collaborative and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood.
