Aydah Elnemr-Arkzat
My name is Aydah Elnemr-Arkzat, LCSW, PMH-C, EMDR Certified Therapist. I earned my Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC), and I bring over 15 years of experience in mental health treatment. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds—including children, adolescents, families, adults, and older adults. Currently, I offer telehealth services exclusively to clients aged 18 and older. I am trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including trauma-focused therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Grief, Eating Disorders, and other somatic/body-based interventions. I am certified in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) to better support individuals navigating mental health challenges during the reproductive and postpartum periods.
Clients often share that they feel deeply understood and supported throughout our work together, even when navigating complex or emotionally challenging issues.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth unfold at a pace that feels safe, collaborative, and empowering.
First session
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where we begin getting to know one another. I’ll ask questions to better understand what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and any goals or hopes you may have for the process. We’ll also review relevant background information, such as your personal history, relationships, and support systems, at a pace that feels comfortable to you. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share what you’re looking for in a therapist, and gauge whether my approach feels like a good fit. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood, setting the foundation for a collaborative and meaningful therapeutic relationship.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is my ability to create a warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore difficult emotions and experiences. I bring deep compassion, active listening, and cultural sensitivity to every session, which helps foster trust and connection. I also draw from a wide range of evidence-based approaches, such as EMDR, somatic interventions, and trauma-informed care, to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. Clients often share that they feel deeply understood and supported throughout our work together, even when navigating complex or emotionally challenging issues. My integrative, client-centered approach allows me to meet clients where they are and help them move toward healing and meaningful change at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
Ideal clients
I work well with adults who are navigating life’s challenges and seeking greater clarity, healing, and emotional balance. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. I support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, grief, and the lingering effects of past trauma. I also provide guidance through major life transitions—such as becoming a parent, coping with loss, or adjusting to new roles and responsibilities. Clients who are open to self-reflection, interested in understanding themselves more deeply, and ready to make meaningful changes often find my approach to be a good fit.
Treatment methods
EMDR
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a trauma-focused therapy that helps clients process distressing experiences and reduce the emotional impact of past trauma. I use EMDR within a safe, supportive, and collaborative approach, incorporating stabilization, grounding, and nervous-system regulation to help clients feel more empowered and connected to themselves. I tailor the pace and interventions to each client’s individual needs and readiness.
