Have you ever felt like you're trying twice as hard as everyone else just to keep up with everyday life? Maybe you're constantly overwhelmed, struggling to focus, battling anxiety, or experiencing mood changes you can't quite explain. You've tried pushing through, but deep down, you know something isn't right. I'm Chinenye Udoh, a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner. I help adolescents and adults navigate ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mental health challenges.

I'm a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in ADHD, anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric evaluations and personalized medication management to help you feel heard, supported, and confident in your treatment.

I have a special passion for treating ADHD and bipolar disorder because I've seen how much someone's life can change when they finally understand what they've been experiencing and receive appropriate treatment. There is something incredibly rewarding about watching someone move from confusion and frustration toward clarity, stability, and confidence. My approach is warm, practical, and judgment-free. I listen, I ask questions, and I work with you to find a treatment plan that makes sense for your life. Whether you're exploring a diagnosis, considering medication, or looking for ongoing psychiatric care, you deserve to feel heard and supported. You don't have to keep figuring everything out on your own. Let's start with a conversation.

First session

Your first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on understanding your symptoms, medical history, previous treatments, and personal goals. We'll discuss possible diagnoses, explore treatment options, and determine whether medication is appropriate. I am comfortable prescribing psychiatric medications when clinically indicated and will explain the benefits, risks, and monitoring involved. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of your treatment options and an individualized plan for moving forward.

Strengths

I bring a combination of clinical expertise, genuine compassion, and a practical, down-to-earth approach to every session. As a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner, I understand that mental and physical health are closely connected, and I consider both when developing your treatment plan. I'm a good listener, but I also believe in helping you find answers and practical solutions. I'll ask thoughtful questions, explain your treatment options in ways that make sense, and involve you in decisions about your care. I don't believe in rushing appointments or reducing people to a diagnosis. My strength is creating a comfortable, judgment-free space where you can be yourself, ask questions, and feel confident that we're working together toward your goals.

Ideal clients

I specialize in helping adolescents and adults navigate ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric conditions. Many of my patients have struggled with poor focus, emotional overwhelm, mood instability, or treatments that haven't adequately addressed their symptoms. I particularly enjoy working with individuals seeking diagnostic clarity, effective medication management, or a fresh approach to their mental health care. Whether you're newly exploring treatment or have tried medications without satisfactory results, I provide thorough evaluations, honest conversations, and individualized treatment plans that address your specific needs.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Have you ever known exactly what you need to do but struggled to follow through? Or found yourself caught in a cycle of overthinking, self-doubt, or negative thoughts? I incorporate CBT techniques to help you recognize the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. For individuals with ADHD, anxiety, or depression, we focus on identifying patterns that keep you feeling stuck and developing realistic strategies to manage them. My goal isn't just to help you understand what's happening, but to help you apply what we discuss to your everyday life.

Motivational Interviewing

Change can feel overwhelming, especially when you've spent years struggling with symptoms or trying treatments that haven't worked for you. I use motivational interviewing to understand what matters most to you, explore concerns about treatment, and help you make decisions that align with your goals. Whether you're considering medication for the first time, struggling with consistency, or feeling unsure about your next steps, we'll work through those concerns together. My role isn't to pressure you into treatment, but to help you feel informed, confident, and involved in your care.

Trauma-Informed Care

Sometimes what you're experiencing today is connected to things you've been carrying for years. Trauma can affect how you respond to stress, manage emotions, build relationships, and even how safe you feel asking for help. I recognize that these experiences can also overlap with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and ADHD. My approach is to understand your story without making assumptions or pushing you to share more than you're ready for. We'll explore how your experiences may be affecting your mental health and develop a treatment plan that respects your boundaries, supports your sense of safety, and helps you move forward.

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment

I believe progress should extend beyond our appointments and into your everyday life. Maybe your goal is to manage your ADHD symptoms well enough to stay organized, get through the day without constant anxiety, or recognize early warning signs of a mood episode. Rather than focusing only on what's going wrong, we'll identify what's already working, what's getting in your way, and what realistic changes you can make. I help you turn larger treatment goals into manageable steps so we can recognize progress, adjust what isn't working, and keep your care focused on what matters most to you.

I really appreciate the consistency and care she puts into managing my medications. She takes the time to review my dosages at every appointment and makes adjustments thoughtfully and safely when needed. Whether we’re increasing a medication or gradually decreasing one, I always feel like there is a plan and that my well-being comes first. As someone living with bipolar disorder and chronic anxiety, I really appreciate the consistency and care

She’s listens to what you say and how you feel. Based on that she comes up with an approach and provides feedback back and does her research on what medication can help.
