Hi! Welcome to my practice. I am a bilingual (Spanish/ English) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and proud first-generation Latina. I obtained my Masters in Social Work from California State University, East Bay in 2016 and have experience in this field for close to 10 years. I am committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care to individuals across the lifespan.
In our first session, I aim to provide a safe and welcoming environment. I will review my practice guidelines with you to ensure this is the correct fit. We will identify current challenges and barriers you are facing to create goals that you will work towards while in treatment. Together we will create a treatment plan to guide your treatment. Trust, communication, and respect will be fundamental in our work together. I am committed to providing a safe space to address concerns, suggestions, and progress in treatment.
My practice is rooted in building safe, trusting relationships. I use an integrative model that draws from attachment theory, trauma-focused modalities, and culturally responsive frameworks. I believe in honoring the resilience that each individual holds and adapting therapy to meet your specific needs, unique experiences, and background. Whether you're navigating childhood adversity, cultural stressors, grief or emotional dysregulation, I aim to provide a space where you feel seen, supported, and leave feeling empowered.
I hold extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. I strive to provide warm, direct, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I specialize in trauma, attachment patterns, cultural identity, depression, anxiety, and suicide prevention/intervention. I am especially passionate about crisis work and supporting individuals through moments of acute stress and emotional overwhelm.
Cynthia Lopez offers therapy covered by Gold Coast Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Health Plan of San Joaquin - Medi-Cal, L.A. Care Health Plan (Medi-Cal), Partnership HealthPlan of California (Medi-Cal) and San Francisco Health Plan (Medi-Cal) in California.
In your sessions, we will explore early childhood experiences, family dynamics, culture, and attachment patterns that have shaped who you are today. We will explore thoughts and feelings outside the conscious mind to identify root causes of your distress and understand why you behave the way you are. In order to achieve long-lasting change, we will explore how past experiences influence your current state. This will help you gain insight to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
