I'm Yesenia Ramirez, LPCC #17257, a Latina, depth-oriented therapist working with individuals, couples, children, and families. Before becoming a therapist, I spent fifteen years as a classroom teacher and several more as a school counselor. Those years taught me how systems shape children, how families' nervous systems move through their bodies, and how much of what looks like behavior is communication. They also taught me that the deeper work people need cannot always be done inside the structure of a school day, and I came to private practice to meet adults, couples, and children at that depth. My approach is psychodynamic and Jungian, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I attend to what is moving beneath the symptom the patterns that organized your life before you had a say, the inheritance carried in your body, and the parts of you that learned what they needed to learn long before words. When trauma is part of the picture, I work with all four of its forms: intergenerational, developmental, complex, and acute. I am also a first-generation Latina, a doctoral candidate in depth psychology, a mother of daughters, and someone navigating my own ADHD. Many of the people I sit with are doing similar work cycle-breakers, neurodivergent adults, families carrying complex histories, and clients who have been screened repeatedly without finding a frame that holds the whole picture. The client is never just a client to me. What you will find here is empathy and space before any frame. We will not rush to pathologize. Together, we will build the vessel your psyche has always required.
A first session with me is a slow, careful conversation no need to arrive with the right words or to have it figured out. We will talk about what brought you, what you are hoping for, and as much of your history as you want to share. I will not push for a story you are not ready to tell, and I will not hand you a diagnosis at the door. You can ask me anything. By the end, we will decide together whether this feels right.
What clients consistently tell me is that I work in a way they have not encountered before. I will not rush to pathologize. I will not interpret your depth, sensitivity, or intensity as a problem to be reduced. I will not hand you a diagnosis at the door. The room moves at your pace, and the work begins with empathy and space not with a treatment protocol. My approach is grounded in depth psychology, psychodynamic and Jungian frameworks, attachment theory, and somatic practice. I attend to the body as a source of information, to the patterns that organized your life before you had a say, and to the four kinds of injury that often arrive together: intergenerational, developmental, complex, and acute. Most therapists are trained in one or two of these. I have trained, and continue to train, in all four and I work the way they actually appear in a life, which is woven together rather than parsed apart. I bring lived experience to this work that I do not pretend to have. I am Latina, first-generation, a doctoral candidate in depth psychology, a cycle-breaker, and someone who lives with ADHD. Many of the people I sit with are doing similar work, and they recognize quickly that I am not observing them from a distance. The client is never just a client to me. I also bring a background that few therapists have. Before I trained as a clinician, I spent fifteen years as a teacher and several more as a school counselor. I understand how systems shape children, how families' nervous systems travel through their bodies, and how much of what looks like behavior is communication. That fluency means I can sit with a school accommodation letter, a sandplay session with a child, a couples conflict cycle, and an adult in burnout and recognize the same configuration moving through all of them. The result, when the work goes well, is not symptom management. It is recognition. The slow restoration of a person to herself. No me apresuraré a patologizar.
I am best positioned to serve clients who arrive with depth and complexity, with the sense that standard frames have not held the whole picture. You may be a cycle-breaker, a first-generation professional, a parent trying to do it differently, or someone navigating burnout, anxiety, complex relational dynamics, or grief. You may be neurodivergent, or you may have been screened repeatedly without finding language that fits. The clients I work best with arrive curious, even when tired. They are looking for more than symptom management. They want to understand how they came to be the way they are, what their nervous system has been carrying, and what is possible on the other side. They are willing to work slowly, to attend to the body, and to take their own history seriously. You do not need to have it figured out. You only need to want to know yourself more deeply.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I work psychodynamically from a graduate and doctoral training that integrates object relations, attachment theory, and depth psychology. I attend to what moves beneath the presenting concern the patterns that organized your life before you had a say, and the unconscious material that arrives through dreams, body, and the therapy relationship itself. I work slowly. I do not aim at symptom management. I aim at lasting change in how you live with yourself and others.

From my very first session, I felt safe, supported, and truly listened to. She has a gift for understanding complex situations without making me feel “too much” or difficult. Her compassion, insight, and willingness to address even hard topics head-on left me feeling lighter, hopeful, and confident that I’m in the right hands.

I liked how Yesenia helped me figure out that I’m not crazy and my mental health is important
