I bring with me years of therapeutic experience working with children, adolescents, adults, at-risk youth, incarcerated young people, 12-Steppers, men and women with addiction and their families, as well as with other issues. My clinical experience has taught me that people struggle with many of the same things: trauma, anxiety, depression, boundaries, trust, self-esteem, etc., and that we all need trusted confidantes who see and accept us exactly as we are, caring witnesses who can see the world through our lens, wise collaborators who will help us to explore issues from many sides, and strong advocates who will empathize with us as we make our own mistakes, and celebrate with us as we learn and grow and heal through this process. I aspires to fulfill as many of these roles for my clients as possible. My approach is eclectic. I aspire to makes room for all parts of you (mental, emotional, social, psychological, spiritual, physical, cultural, etc.) to be present, considered, nurtured, supported, and honored. I am trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Psychosynthesis and Psychodrama, to name a few. I use them as needed to help you to develop greater self-intimacy and break through mental, psychological, and emotional blocks to achieve your goals and live your life in fullness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I usually take the first few minutes orienting you to how I work. I spend the remainder of the session getting to know you and answering your questions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I offer a compassionate and intelligent presence and an understanding and non-judgmental space on your journey toward discovery of your own truth, full self-acceptance, and becoming the whole person you aspire to be. I listen closely, try to see the whole situation, and from your perspective then give honest caring feedback. I am an advocate for your health and wholeness.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is the newest addition to my tool bag. I have been using it for almost a year now to help clients change the way they relate to their thought and themself, clarify their personal goals and take active steps toward accomplishing them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has been one of my most used methods for many years now. I have found it to be a great tool for developing an understanding of the connection between thoughts, emotions and ultimately our actions. CBT helps us to move beyond the trip wires of our thinking and find more empowering ways to view ourselvers and our situation

Eclectic

No cookie cutter approach here. I have been trained in a wide variety of treatment approaches which I use according to the needs of the client who is in front of me.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is on of my preferred approaches to addressing phobias, anxiety, and PTSD. I find that it is most useful when coupled with ACT to help clients change their thinking about things they fear, consistently confront these fears, and move through them.

Transpersonal

A Transpersonal approach undergirds everything I do in my sessions with client. Through my use of it for more than a decade, I find that I can trust whatever show up in the session with my clients and I know that ultimately, it will help us move towards a place of healing if we stay connected to it.
