Hello, I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I love what I do! I work with individuals and couples. My area of expertise is substance abuse and recovery, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, marital and family issues. I truly enjoy working with couples as well. I consider it a privilege to be on this journey with my clients who place a great deal of confidence in my clinical skills. I look forward to going on this journey with you, no matter how bumpy the road may be, together we can define what your path looks like to a successful and fulfilled life.
I like to meet clients were they are at and tailor my approach based on the client. I might borrow from various theoretical orientations to meet the goals. My clients have described me as an caring, empathetic, genuine, and passionate therapist. I like to think outside the box. I believe that no matter how hard life gets, we as human being are resilient and very capable of dealing with whatever may come our way and this is best done with someone who is unbiased, non-judgmental, and able to provide a safe space for healing.
Having helped a lot of my clients who dealt with trauma, addiction, and abuse, I tend to do a lot of attachment work. CBT and DBT pair well with my approach as it helps in emotional regulations and management, and thought correction. I utilize Imago and Gottman's therapy with my couples.
I am a strength based therapist. I believe that when life gets tough and challenging, it is easy to put ourselves down, have a defeated attitude, or even just give up without looking at how resilient we are as human beings. In doing so, we often discount our strengths and the things that make us unique. I believe that each of us has a purpose to fulfill on this earth, I take great pleasure in helping you discover who you are, who you are meant to be, and in becoming the best version of you.
