Hi, I’m Mir Ali! I believe we all have the capacity to heal, grow, and build more meaningful lives—and that real change often starts through connection. Over the past 8 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people from all walks of life as they navigate challenges like anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship challenges, and career transitions. My goal is to offer a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered to move forward at your own pace.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I understand it takes courage to take the first steps towards self-actualization and live a fulfilling life. I am here to support & empower you in your journey in a compassionate and safe space. Each session we'll focus on your goals, be it enhancing self-understanding, developing new skills/self-confidence, reducing distress, or be it understanding the greater sense of purpose. Together will monitor progress and update the plan to meet your needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths as a provider are the offshoots of my core values that guide my sense of being. As a provider, I believe my strengths include warmth, empathy, active listening, a non-judgmental approach, and cultural sensitivity. Having worked with individuals across the lifespan for the past 8 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with people of various age groups, including those who feel stuck. I pull from a range of tools and perspectives depending on what feels right for you. That might mean exploring your past to understand how it’s showing up today, learning new ways to manage stress or anxiety, working through painful experiences, or finding practical steps forward when you feel stuck. My goal is to offer support that’s thoughtful, grounded, and flexible—so you feel seen, heard, and empowered in the process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (CBT) are evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches that focus on the relationship between a person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT is based on the premise that distorted or irrational thinking patterns and maladaptive behaviors can contribute to psychological distress, and aims to help individuals identify and change these patterns.

EMDR

EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes, showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

As the name suggests, SFBT is future-focused, goal-directed, and focuses on solutions, rather than on the problems that brought clients to seek therapy. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach that incorporates positive psychology principles and practices and helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense, SFBT is a hope-friendly, positive emotion-eliciting, future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

We all have parts they’d rather keep hidden. Maybe it’s a vengeful part that’s fueled by an unresolved conflict, or an insecure part that lingers after being rejected by others, or an ashamed part that stems from a past trauma. Clinicians call this the shadow side. Now, it’s not that the shadow side is all bad. Exploring the shadow (as scary as that may be for many clients) can lead to profound growth. That’s because when clients come to accept their unwanted parts, it can lead to deeper, more authentic, and more meaningful relationships with themselves and others.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based individual therapy, rooted in attachment theory, explores how early relationships shape current relational patterns and emotional well-being. It aims to help individuals understand their attachment style and develop healthier relational behaviors. This therapy often involves uncovering past experiences, addressing attachment ruptures, and promoting a secure base within the therapeutic relationship.
