Hello family. My name is Stacee Williams, LCSW. I am an African American female therapist. I have worked in the mental health field for 20 yrs. In am born and raised in Los Angeles. I started in 2000 in community mental health in Los Angeles. In 2007, I became a therapist, and in 2016 I was licensed as a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in CA. I treat depression, anxiety, grief/loss, family issues, struggles surrounding discrimination in the workplace, and women's self-empowerment. My professional experience has been treating black women, women of color, and people of color. Healing is a long term process, and it's very important to me as therapist.
In our first session I expect to a safe, confidential space for the client to communicate their presenting problems, the reason they are seeking therapy, and what they are looking to receive from treatment. Building rapport, creating a safe emotional space, and positive therapeutic relationship is an initial part of the first session.
My biggest strengths are working w/ black woman, woman, and people of color. Understanding the symptoms of depression, anxiety, loss, and how it shows up for people of color and in women. I align w/ the client to provide a sense a safety, support, and healing. I keep updated w/ trainings, seminars, articles, and resources to provide additional support for my practice and for my clients.
