Hi, I’m Michelle. If you feel overwhelmed, disorganized, stuck in procrastination, or frustrated that everyday tasks seem harder than they should, you’re not alone, and you’re not lazy or broken.
I specialize in helping adults with ADHD, including those who are newly diagnosed, have lived with ADHD for years, or are beginning to wonder whether ADHD may explain some of their struggles. Together, we explore how ADHD may affect the way you think, feel, function, relate to others, and navigate everyday life.
My approach is warm, collaborative, practical, and strengths-based. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based therapy, psychoeducation, and executive-functioning support to help reduce shame, increase self-understanding, and build practical tools that fit your life and the way your brain works. When appropriate, I may also incorporate EMDR to address distressing experiences, chronic shame, or negative beliefs that have developed through years of criticism, rejection, or feeling misunderstood.
My work is also shaped by personal experience with ADHD, which has provided additional perspective alongside my professional training. This combination allows me to approach clients with both clinical expertise and an appreciation for the nuanced ways ADHD can affect daily life.
My goal is to help you feel more confident, capable, and supported in creating a life that works with your brain rather than against it. For clients who would like to incorporate their faith into therapy, I also offer Christian counseling in a supportive and natural way.
My Professional Background and Counseling Philosophy
My passion for mental health has shaped my work with individuals, families, and communities across a variety of settings. Over the years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with clients to enhance their well-being, drawing on my experience across diverse settings, including hospital Emergency Departments, psychiatric units, community organizations, and mental health agencies. My professional journey includes supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, assisting those facing mental illness, and working with people who have experienced homelessness and hopelessness. I have also provided both individual and group therapy within clinical settings.
Counseling Philosophy
At the core of my counseling practice is the belief that meaningful change occurs through collaboration and purposeful effort. I view my clients as the experts in their own lives and encourage them to take an active role in their treatment by investing time and energy in the process. Together, we identify the outcomes that matter most to the client and work to ensure consistent progress toward those goals. My approach centers on empowering clients by fostering self-awareness and resilience, and I am dedicated to ensuring every individual feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.
Commitment to Client Autonomy
What distinguishes my counseling style is a steadfast commitment to honoring each client’s autonomy. For example, I have worked with clients who struggle with anxiety and self-doubt. By collaborating closely, we identify the client’s unique strengths and develop practical coping strategies tailored to their needs. As clients move through this process, they gradually regain their confidence and begin taking meaningful steps toward their desired outcomes. This experience reinforced for me the importance and effectiveness of a supportive, empowering therapeutic alliance. In every interaction, my focus is on achieving the best possible results and facilitating lasting, positive change.

Every relationship leaves an imprint. The quality of our relationships shapes nearly every part of our lives, including the relationship we have with ourselves. Whether you're recovering from a breakup, struggling with family dynamics, navigating friendship challenges, or feeling stuck in unhealthy relationship patterns, therapy can help you heal and rebuild trust in yourself and others. My practice focuses on helping adults understand their attachment style, heal relational wounds, strengthen emotional connections, and create relationships that feel secure, authentic, and supportive. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be holding you back and create lasting change that supports healthier, more fulfilling connections in all areas of life.
Many of the clients I work with find themselves repeating the same painful cycles, overthinking relationships, struggling with boundaries, fearing rejection, or feeling disconnected despite wanting deeper connection. Through a compassionate, attachment focused approach, we'll work to understand where these patterns began, how they continue to show up in your life, and what it takes to create meaningful change. I believe healing happens when we gain insight into our experiences while also learning new ways to relate to ourselves and others. My goal is to provide a supportive space where you can process difficult emotions, build self trust, increase emotional resilience, and develop the confidence needed to create stronger, healthier relationships.

You've tried pushing through it. Ignoring it. Waiting for it to pass. It isn't working.

Are you looking to improve your communication, strengthen your relationships, and manage conflict more effectively? Interpersonal skills are the foundation of healthy and thriving relationships—both personal and professional. If you are recovering from an emotionally abusive or narcissistic relationship and feel disconnected from yourself, therapy can also help you rebuild your identity, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop healthier relationship patterns.

I specialize in helping clients improve their relationship with themselves through personal growth and the development of healthier interpersonal skills, including communication, conflict resolution, anger management, boundary-setting, emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills. How you relate to yourself impacts every relationship in your life. When you learn to communicate effectively, set healthy boundaries, manage emotions, and navigate challenges in healthier ways, your relationships often become stronger, more balanced, and more fulfilling. This growth can improve confidence, reduce stress, and support overall emotional wellness.

Hello, and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. I look forward to working with you and your family. I believe communication—even when it is limited to a single word or gesture—is the foundation of all relationships. In fact, research shows that much of our communication is nonverbal. My goal is to help individuals and families understand their relational patterns, navigate conflict more effectively, and become more congruent and intentional communicators.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use concerns and relapse prevention, grief and trauma, and bipolar disorders. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered as they move through life’s challenges.
Additionally, I specialize in autism-related family dynamics, caregiver burnout, and identity transitions. I am the author of Dear Single Mother: A Journal of Autism, Isolation, and Self-Discovery, a reflective work that explores resilience and meaning-making through lived experience. While my writing reflects personal insight, my clinical work is rooted in systemic, trauma-informed care that honors both evidence-based practice and each client's unique experiences in the therapy room.
