I’m Pam Sykes, a mental health provider with more than 12 years of experience offering online counseling to teens and adults, including individuals and couples. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I understand that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I take the time to understand what you’re experiencing and what you need to feel supported as you move forward.
You’re the one everyone depends on — the one who keeps showing up, pushing through, and holding everything together for everyone else. But underneath it all, you may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, or disconnected from yourself. Maybe you spend so much time caring for others that your own needs have been pushed to the side. If that sounds familiar, you are not alone, and you do not have to carry it all by yourself anymore.
Welcome, I’m Sharmane Jackson, a therapist based in Pennsylvania, and I’m truly glad you’re here. I provide a warm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. Therapy with me is about helping you feel heard, supported, and empowered while working toward meaningful change.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, relationship stress, emotional overwhelm, and the emotional weight of constantly pouring into others while neglecting themselves. My approach is compassionate, human-centered, and culturally responsive, blending emotional support with practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally balanced in your daily life.
Together, we may explore patterns that leave you feeling stuck, strengthen coping skills and boundaries, process difficult emotions, and create more space for your own needs without guilt. I believe healing happens in spaces where people feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves.
Whether you’re seeking clarity, healthier relationships, or simply a place where you no longer have to carry everything alone, therapy can be the beginning of feeling like yourself again.
Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but you’ve already started by being here. I would be honored to support you in your healing and growth.
As a therapist—and as someone living with Type 1 diabetes—I understand firsthand the emotional, psychological, and relational toll that chronic illness can take. Managing a lifelong condition doesn’t just affect the body; it can impact your identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. In my practice, I also specialize in working with individuals and couples dealing with the complex and often painful realities of addiction, recovery, and relational distress. These experiences can leave people feeling stuck, isolated, or overwhelmed, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Whether you’re working to rebuild trust in a relationship, find freedom from substance use, or heal from past wounds, I’m here to support you with compassion and respect.
I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly and honestly about your struggles. My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices tailored to your unique needs and goals. Together, we will explore what’s holding you back and build the tools you need to move forward—at your own pace, and on your own terms.
No matter where you are in your journey, my goal is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change.

Hi there! I'm assuming you made it to my page because life has gotten particularly difficult and you're searching for some sort of direction or confirmation that "you are not crazy for feeling that way". We are not crazy for feeling - and therapy can help assist you in understanding why some emotions are more difficult to feel than others. Recovery is about learning tolerance; not forgetting and dismissing your experiences. I am experienced in working in both outpatient offices and inpatient hospital settings where I support clients in addressing issues stemming from generational trauma, relationships, grief and loss, life adjustments, substance use / other addictions, anxiety, and serious mental illness. I have worked in mental health for over 20 years. I received my BA in Psychology in 1994 and my Masters in Social Work in 1997. Since then, I have worked in various settings including the Behavioral Health System of Philadelphia, numerous behavioral health facilities which include psychiatric units, detox and rehabs, college counseling settings and in assisted living/nursing facilities with older adults. In 2013, I started an in person private practice and then made the jump to telehealth during the pandemic. I find that telehealth is much more accessible and convenient for clients as we are still able to do amazing work together!

I can help you navigate whatever place you are in and help to elevate you to a healthier space where you feel happier and more in tune with yourself.
