My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT in my practice to help clients identify connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I support clients in recognizing maladaptive thinking patterns, developing cognitive restructuring skills, and practicing behavioral strategies that reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. I often incorporate psychoeducation, thought-challenging exercises, behavioral activation, and coping skills training to promote symptom stabilization and improved daily functioning.

Motivational Interviewing

I apply motivational interviewing techniques to help clients resolve ambivalence and strengthen intrinsic motivation for change. By using open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summarizing, I create a collaborative and non-judgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore personal goals, especially when addressing treatment resistance, substance use concerns, and behavioral change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My therapeutic style is grounded in person-centered principles, emphasizing empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. I prioritize creating a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. This approach fosters trust and allows clients to guide treatment at a pace that feels comfortable, promoting autonomy and self-efficacy.

Strength-Based

I consistently use a strengths-based perspective to identify clients’ resilience, capabilities, and existing support systems. I help clients reframe challenges by highlighting their adaptive skills, past successes, and personal resources. This approach builds confidence, promotes hope, and encourages clients to take an active role in problem-solving and recovery.

Trauma Informed Care

I practice through a trauma-informed lens by recognizing the widespread impact of trauma and ensuring that services promote emotional safety, trust, and empowerment. I am mindful of trauma triggers, avoid re-traumatization, and help clients develop grounding techniques, emotional regulation skills, and healthy coping strategies. I emphasize choice, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity while helping clients process traumatic experiences when clinically appropriate.
