You may be the person everyone depends on; the one who handles problems, pushes through challenges, and keeps everything moving. But what happens when you're the one feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of what comes next? I'm Kumalo, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, and retired U.S. Army officer with more than 22 years of military service and behavioral health leadership. I help adults navigate anxiety, trauma, PTSD, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is compassionate, straightforward, and focused on helping you make meaningful progress. I believe therapy should be more than a place to talk about what's wrong. It should also be a space where you feel understood, gain new perspectives, develop practical tools, and rediscover your confidence and sense of direction. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and EMDR, I tailor treatment to your experiences, needs, and goals. Whether you're dealing with painful experiences from the past, pressure in the present, or uncertainty about the future, we'll work together to identify what's keeping you stuck and create a path forward. My experience includes supporting military service members, veterans, professionals, and individuals who carry significant responsibilities while quietly managing their own struggles. You don't have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy, and you don't need to have all the answers to get started. You've spent a lot of time showing up for others. It's okay to make yourself a priority, too. If you're ready to feel more grounded, strengthen your relationships, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence, I'd welcome the opportunity to work with you.

My name is Janet Muta and I am a Licensed Clinician with over 17 years of experience in mental health, behavioral issues and relationships. I treat individuals from diverse backgrounds. My approach is treating the whole person because most of the time our problems are the outcome of more than just one thing and when I get to know you I am able to address different issues that could be contributing to that one specific problem. We all experience some difficulties in our lives sometimes and we all cope differently. What works for one person/couple who are experiencing a similar situation may not work for another and so I personalize your treatment to fit you. Being in therapy is like being on a journey, I make sure you are in the driver’s seat and I become your great working GPS, guiding you to your desired destination. I also hold a degree in finance which sometimes comes handy when helping those who are stressed due to financial needs. I value appropriate self disclosure when it supports the therapeutic process and use my training and lived experience to help clients develop tools that genuinely serve them. My work draws from an eclectic foundation that includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, and Somatic approaches. I also integrate alternative and mind body methods that expand healing beyond traditional talk therapy, supporting both emotional and physiological well-being. I practice from an intersectional perspective, recognizing that our identities; race, gender, sexuality, neurotype, ability, culture, and lived experience intersect to shape how we move through the world and how the world responds to us. Healing requires honoring all of those parts. I believe neurodivergence is not something to be fixed, but understood, supported, and celebrated. Therapy is a space to learn your brain, not fight against it, to understand how it works, and build systems of support that honor your authentic wiring.

Hi, my name is Eva. I have been practicing in the mental health and substance-abuse field for almost 30 years and during that time I have come to learn a lot about what it takes to help a person move from one place to another and it has also taught me how to move from one place to another so that I too can live my best life . I believe that we all need help from time to time and someone to help us see clearly when we have difficulty seeing things clearly ourselves. My best practice of therapy is being eclectic, which means in simple terms that I use whatever technique I need to to reach my client wherever they are at. This includes all best practices that are evidence-based to work with women, young adults, men and children who all have a common need to feel heard and supported. I specialize in a variety of treatment modalities that include trauma, substance abuse, anxiety/ depression, and other mood/mental disorders, and I desire to help all my clients improve their current life situation so that they can begin to live their best lives.

But I also tailor my sessions to the individuals or couples that I work with so I often utilize many other treatment approaches. Hello, welcome to the beginning of this new therapy journey. Whether it's your first time or you've been here before - I am happy to support you in whatever you need! I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs, therapy is not one-size fits all! Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. I am licensed in North Carolina with seven years of professional work experience. I graduated from Appalachian State University with my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work, and have held a clinical license (LCSW) since 2019. I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, parenting issues, life changes, anxiety, depression, motivation, self-esteem, career difficulties, school issues, financial struggles, and more. I work with any and all age groups, especially with teens and young adults. Some of my more focused expertise are life changes regarding the growing pains of adolescence, personal relationships, career changes and loss as well as relationship issues including trust, infidelity, STDs, jealousy, commitment issues, attachment issues, codependency, and more. I have worked in-home with families with kids on juvenile probation, and am trained in Functional Family Therapy - which looks closely at the functions of the family and each member's role and behaviors and how to find solutions to the presenting problems. My therapy style is very solution-focused and relatively fast paced. I typically meet with clients who need brief therapy for life changes and adjustment, or support with parenting, relationships, etc. but am able to do more long-term if desired!

Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns. To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress. My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki. Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.
