Hello and thank you for considering me as your therapist. I have earned a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and am licensed as a Qualified Supervisor in the state of North Carolina. I also hold a national certification as a licensed counselor.

I work from an existential, strengths-based format and utilize techniques from solution focused therapy, applied ecopsychology, and Rogerian therapies among many others.

I have been working in the mental health field since 2016 and I am happy to assist children between the ages of 9-12, adults, couples, and families. I work from an existential, strengths-based format and utilize techniques from solution focused therapy, applied ecopsychology, and Rogerian therapies among many others. I believe that we all have the ability to be successful and happy, but that we sometimes get stuck along the way. That is what I am here for. Let me help you continue your journey.

First session

In our first session together, we will spend time exploring your background and exactly what you feel can be gained through therapy. I feel it is important to understand both where you came from and where you hope to go so that our meetings together will have structure and purpose. We will develop goals to work towards and address any immediate stressors you might hold. I want to ensure you feel heard and valued as an individual throughout the counseling relationship.

Strengths

As your provider, I hope to be more than a sympathetic ear. I will help you develop goals and empower you to take the necessary steps to achieve those goals. I am not here to judge you, but I will certainly provide a new perspective on your current challenges that may motivate you to move in a new, healthier direction.

Ideal clients

I work best with clients who are willing to develop goals and work in a collaborative environment. We engage in therapy to resolve challenges and develop new perspectives, not simply to "catch up" on recent events or complain about problems. Let's work together to develop clarity on your struggles, create a plan, and work towards a realistic and positive resolution.

When one seeks out a therapist, you cross your fingers and hope to find one you connect with, and you feel comfortable with. We found that with Jason, great guy.
