Good Day. I'm Karen. Learning how to cope with change can be difficult. Are there times where you feel as if friends and family misunderstand you? Do you find yourself struggling with change making it hard to adapt to new environments? If so, I am here to help!
I have worked in social services and mental health for over 10 years. As a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor for over 7 years, I have collaborated with agencies and organizations within New York City area to address the needs of individuals and families; including those who are struggling to heal from the impact of anxiety, depression and various addictions that can cause damage to the lives of both young people and adults alike.
When collaborating with an individual, I provide support no matter your socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other personal backgrounds. I am particularly sensitive to clients facing moments of transition, such as stress, loss, academic issues, employee issues, coping skills, marriage and family conflict; when the delicate balance can seem to tremble, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and self-doubt can emerge.

Hello beautiful soul! I am a licensed mental health counselor who received my education and training from Columbia University in New York City. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, social-justice informed, insight oriented, collaborative, and guided by foundational principles in Eastern Buddhist philosophy and spirituality.
I specialize in the following areas of healing:
Exploring one’s identity and understanding how marginalized and/or privileged aspects of one’s identity informs one’s lived experience and self-concept.
Helping clients of marginalized identities feel EMPOWERED with self-love and acceptance in who they are authentically.
Exploration of childhood trauma and using a deeply supportive and nurturing therapeutic bond to create emotionally reparative experiences.
Providing evidence-supported and catered insight into how one’s trauma lead to the psychological development of maladaptive beliefs, behaviors, and triggers.
Using mindfulness practices such as meditation and wisdom from Eastern Buddhist philosophy and spirituality to guide one’s awareness towards greater self-love, compassion, and enlightenment.
We all have fundamental needs: To belong, to feel understood, to give and receive love, to feel financially secure, to be free from pain. My approach to therapy begins with addressing the impetus that led to scheduling that first appointment, to then addressing core basic needs like sleep, nutrition and social connections. We will work to develop an awareness into emotional states and behaviors that arise out of them. Sometimes, it is the actions of others that are the primary source of our own distress. Even then, we can focus on what is in our control to improve our coping and circumstances.
You may be here to look into therapy for yourself, or for someone that you love. Maybe this is your first time looking for a therapist, or perhaps you've spoken to many therapists in the past. Wherever you're coming from today - just know that therapy is a wonderful gift you can give to yourself at any time in your life. You can't be "too bad" or "too good" to enter therapy. In fact, I am going to invite you to let go of the idea of "good/bad," "right/wrong, "fair/unfair" in our work together.
Hi There, Perrin here, If you are reading this short bio, I want to first congratulate you on the first step towards self discovery. I was born in The Bronx, NY which has inducted me naturally into a world that did not always make sense. I am mixed with African American and Native American heritage so this has allowed me to be both culturally sensitive as well as unbiased towards the human experience. I have a great appreciation for humanity which has led me to this field and assisting individuals in recognizing their innate abilities to push through tough challenges is my most treasured goal. My practice embodies the three core processes I have concluded to be effective during my 13 years of experience. These processes are; explore, grow, and maintain and through these processes, individuals will understand and explore where they have come from, growing through their experiences, and using the skills along the way in maintaining effective change.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and doctoral-level clinician who helps high-achieving, self-aware adults navigate anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, and life transitions. Many of my clients are deeply capable people who appear “put together” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected internally. My work focuses on helping you understand yourself more clearly, regulate your emotions more effectively, and move through life with confidence and intention.
Hello, thank you for learning more about me and how we might work together
Toward your goals. I am a trained, licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and life coach in New York City and New Jersey. My approach to working with clients is supportive and strength-based. No matter what you have been through, you are resilient. I work with you to discover your truth and authenticity. While my background is in trauma-informed care, I apply treatment modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectic behavior therapy,
DBT and talk therapy. I adapt most of my methods to individual needs. I am a parent and an African American woman with a deep understanding of the intersectionality of gender, race, culture, and class. I approach my work through an anti-oppressive and social justice lens with a deeper understanding of systems of oppression as they relate to race, gender, and sexuality. I always approach diversity in the room as a gift with significant room for the clients to teach me. I am a curious person and respect the uniqueness of every human being’s background.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey and New York, specializing in perinatal mental health, anxiety, and eating and body image concerns. I’m passionate about supporting women through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and the many identity shifts that accompany motherhood. For clients with a history of eating or body image distress, I integrate intuitive eating and body neutrality to help them find peace with food and their bodies.
After years of working in hospital and outpatient settings in New York City, I chose to focus on what I’m most passionate about—helping women navigate the often overwhelming emotions that come with pregnancy and new motherhood. I support moms who feel anxious about their baby’s milestones, worry about feeding, feel disconnected, or find themselves snapping at their partner and wondering, “What’s happening to me?”
I work with those navigating stress, trauma, and relationship challenges. My name is Michael Starr, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I believe therapy is more than just problem-solving, it’s a place to rediscover who you are, heal what’s been hidden, and move forward with clarity and strength. I work with individuals, couples, and families facing anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, identity questions, and emotional overwhelm.
My style is honest, grounded, and deeply respectful of the human experience. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma-Focused CBT, but I also hold space for what cannot always be explained, your story, your meaning, your growth.
Clients often come to me feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Together, we uncover the patterns keeping you there and build the insight, skills, and resilience to move through them. You won’t be rushed or judged. You’ll be heard, supported, and challenged when needed.
You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to start. Healing begins with one honest conversation, and I’m here to take that step with you.

Hello, my name is Ricardo Guzman, LCSW. I identify as openly gay and was born in Honduras, but have also lived in Hong Kong, China; St. Paul, MN; and New York City. What inspired me to become a therapist were my own struggles with Coming-out of the closet, experiencing anxiety and depression, having my first heartbreak, as well as dealing with addiction (I am Sober), so I've been there myself. Therapy has helped me find healing in my own life and I know it can do the same to you. I will help you get back to self-love and acceptance.
Hello, I am Dr. Young.
The secret to becoming successful in life is to change from the inside out. In my view, everyone is capable of self-healing given proper guidance and supportive conditions. Using a gentle, hypnosis-based approach, I offer solution-focused brief therapy to help you access your internal resources and work through challenges. With acceptance and appreciation of what you can do, possible solutions previously not in sight start to appear organically.
My interventions are based on our collaboration and leverage your own experiences, beliefs, and behavioral patterns to drive change. I use storytelling and metaphors that mirror your problems and indirectly guide your problem-solving. With your consent, I guide you into a deeply relaxed state in which new perspectives are more easily accessible or receptive.
