You are capable, dependable, and often the person others rely on. But constant stress, worry, and responsibilities can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, work-life imbalance, and difficulty setting boundaries. I also specialize in supporting professionals, caregivers, leaders, and high-achieving adults experiencing burnout and high-functioning anxiety. My approach is supportive, practical, and solution-focused, helping you gain clarity, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful change. With over 14 years of clinical experience across healthcare systems, private practice, and community settings, I understand how prolonged pressure and responsibility can quietly impact emotional well-being. My approach is warm, supportive, and grounded in helping clients slow down, reconnect with themselves, strengthen healthy boundaries, and build a more sustainable and balanced way of living — not just surviving.

Since 2000, I've dedicated much of my professional career as a life coach. In 2016, I began my journey to become a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in assisting individuals in managing their challenges. My approach integrates both intellectual and emotional aspects to support clients effectively. Using CBT, TF-CBT, and Motivational interviewing techniques, I provide structured, goal-oriented processes while focusing on achieving specific therapeutic goals. Addressing the needs of individuals who have experienced trauma by reducing symptoms of trauma-related disorders, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety, among children, adolescents, and their families. Concentrating on helping clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change, the collaborative and client-centered nature effectively enhances motivation, promotes engagement in treatment, and supports clients in making meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives. I love to work with people who are willing to think, to consider new ideas, to examine themselves honestly, and to try new behaviors. This is exciting! I love people who allow me the occasional moment of silence so that I can prepare a question that fits their unique personality and situation. I love working with people who are excited about working on things throughout the week and will give me honest feedback as to how effective that idea was for them. And i find it very enjoyable to work with someone who can articulate what they believe their issue is and what they think they need to do to overcome (either by increasing or decreasing a behavior) their problem (even if it takes a few sessions to get there). it's great to work with people who will do their best to give a new idea a shot. All that being said, everyone has their up days and down days. We wouldn't be human if we didn't. Being willing to let me walk alongside of them on those days, as well as the good days, humbles me because of their trust. Therapy can be work, and change doesn't fall into our laps. But it is possible, and in many cases, in order to experience abundant living, very necessary. Finally, I really enjoy working with people who, even as they identify a tendency, a personality trait, a reaction, or a thought process that may be related to childhood or adult trauma or abuse, will also look for ways to overcome its impact on them instead of being content to sit in its shade and let themselves be bested by it.

I believe in therapy as someone who has done my own clinical work since I was in my mid-twenties. I grew up in NJ and moved to Michigan to attend college and have been here since that time. I spent the first part of my career working in the foster care system with children and adolescents which I really enjoyed. That gave me a great foundation for working with the adult issues of attachment, child developmental stages that were not accomplished and struggles with current relationships. I do a lot of work with people who were raised by narcissistic parents, people who are dealing with cancer diagnosis and those with chronic or life threatening illnesses. I work with people who are addressing childhood trauma, sexual abuse or emotional abuse. I have worked with adoptees who are seeking understanding of themselves and their past. I do a lot of work with individuals transitioning from a divorce situation and all the adjustments that this involves especially in coparenting situations. I find people and their life experiences fascinating and always worth unpacking and investigating to gain a better understanding of the self as a whole being; there is always something new to learn.

Over 15 years ago, I began my work as a licensed professional counselor. Since then, I’ve worked with diverse individuals and consistently seen that when people are empowered with the right information, they can often find the best solutions to their challenges. Using a range of evidence-based therapies, I guide purposeful conversations and reflection to support that process. I believe in discussing difficult topics with compassion and without judgment. Because you are the expert on your own life, collaboration is central to our work. Together, we develop practical and creative solutions, remain flexible as needs evolve, and build a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship focused on your goals. My experience includes four years working primarily with children and teenagers facing anxiety, mood concerns, relationship challenges, stress, and future planning. Prior to that, I worked in community mental health supporting clients ages 11 to 99 with a wide range of mental health concerns. I approach each client with respect for their resilience and capacity for growth. My role is to offer clarity, tools, and guidance as we work together to build confidence, develop strategies, and create meaningful progress toward your goals.

Greetings! My name is Brian. After years working primarily with individuals who were court-ordered to chat with me, I've just recently started my own practice to spread my wings and talk with folks eager to improve their situations without quite so much external motivation. Some background information about me if you're interested: I attained my Masters in Clinical Social Work degree from Ferris State University and graduated with the highest honors. I've worked in housing and with those experiencing homelessness. I've worked with children in foster care and with the parents trying to get them back into their care. I've worked with teens and older adults and every age between, both individually and in groups. I've helped educate about substance use, adjust from violence and trauma, cope with depression and anxiety, and develop time-management and stress-management skills, among others. I'm proud of what I've accomplished thus far, but what can I say? I want to do more!

I am a counselor who embodies empathy, compassion, and motivation in guiding my clients toward healing and self-discovery. My training in TEAM CBT, developed by Dr. David Burns, emphasizes the transformative power of confronting negative thoughts to drive positive emotional change. This method, rooted in the principle that 'The Truth Shall Set You Free,' focuses on identifying and challenging cognitive distortions. Additionally, as a Christian Counselor, I seamlessly integrate Christian principles with traditional talk therapy and TEAM CBT, ensuring that these approaches complement rather than conflict. This holistic blend allows for a therapy experience where clients address their mental health challenges and find deeper meaning and alignment with their spiritual beliefs.

I believe Irvin Yalom said it best when he said we need to form a unique therapy for every person. We are all unique, our relationships and experiences are unique, and in therapy we need to find your own path forward in life. We can find that as a conversation between two experts, you being the expert in your own life, and me being an expert in this field. Together, we can work to help you find what you are looking for in therapy. Whether it is a skill and action motivated plan, or a space to emotionally process things regularly, or anything in between.

As an individual who struggled with alcohol addiction, depression, and anxiety, my life experiences, as well as my education and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of my life, have provided me with the opportunity to serve those who are struggling with life. Everyone has life struggles. I am prepared to help individuals and couples learn how to live life amidst struggles, such as depression, addiction, worry, financial stress, or marriage difficulties. I am blessed and honored to be in a position to use the gifts God has entrusted me with to serve others. My specialty area is addictions. I struggled with alcohol addiction for about 23 years. Through God's redeeming grace and an excellent education, I am well equipped to help those struggling with addiction and the anxiety, depression, worry, and fear that may or may not be attached to the addiction. My life experience with addiction has equipped me with an understanding about addiction. Not just for the individual, but for the affected family/social network as well. My education at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary has also equipped me with God's ultimate resource for our afflictions - The Word of God.

Hi I'm Gaby. If you have been feeling sick and stuck in a negative thought process and wondering if there is anyone who can understand or help you, let's talk. I am here to help you experience change and escape from the pattern of life that has left you feeling different, unwell, and stuck. I am first and foremost a Trauma Informed Recovery Therapist. This means that I believe in you and I believe in your goals and I know we can find a way to get there while acknowledging all that you have been through. I realized I wanted to become a therapist during a serendipitous summer camp experience—40 feet in the air on the high ropes course, I learned that I loved helping people process challenging experiences in creative ways. I love using a lot of different approaches depending on what we are working on. Some of my favorite methods are cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, strength based therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I have been doing individual therapy with teens and adults of all ages since 2020. Previously, I worked as a clinical consultant, clinical director, and clinical supervisor in specialized mental health rehabilitation settings. I have been supporting people in creating and meeting their goals since 2012. I have used all of my past work experiences to learn how to work with clients to explore dreams, and strengths, and learn how to make these things their reality. I use eclectic strategies to support people as they sort through their lives and figure out ways to move forward in a new light. I believe that therapy is a special space that allows a person to sit, process, and problem-solve in a way that can’t always be done in day-to-day.

She is licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and the State of Connecticut. Her comments and questions directed toward potential clients include the following: If you are facing challenges in your life and are considering therapy I am happy to assist. Many of us experience issues with anxiety, confidence, and self-esteem. Emotions, thoughts and behaviors can be very challenging. It is my goal to assist clients with understanding how these three components are interrelated and to assist clients with empowering themselves to achieve increased awareness, introspection and insight and gain a happier life. Are you faced with worry? Do you find yourself overthinking and experiencing racing thoughts? Perhaps you experience social anxiety. Are you facing a history of family trauma? Or perhaps, issues with communication and conflict in a relationship? Perhaps you are dealing with a stressful matter related to your career, or educational endeavors. Or, you may be dealing with identity issues and/or gender changes. These are just some of the examples of the topics that we can address during sessions. Karenna Lang's primary areas of interest include persons suffering from anxiety, persons with a history of family trauma, and individuals and couples experiencing problems with communication and conflicts. Experiences, focus and satisfaction also includes working with individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. Karenna Lang further has expressed, whatever issues you may be facing, it is a courageous step to seek and obtain counseling services and I am happy to offer a friendly approach and a safe, confidential, respectful, and supportive environment.

My name is Anthony and I have worked in the behavioral health field for 30 years. I am very active in the behavioral health field even being acknowledged as a Notable Leader in Behavioral Health in 2023 through Crain's Detroit. While a large portion of my work is spent training and managing a team of behavioral health professionals it is incredibly important to me to continue creating space to partner and directly serve people. This is where you come in, providing counseling is generally the best part of my work. It grounds me with why I am a work in behavioral health, it allows me to practice the skills I have learned over the decades and it creates energy and life satisfaction. You have many options of who to choose as a therapist, know that if you choose me I will be excited to see you and to partner with you. Seeing clients is literally not my job, I genuinely want to be your counselor and I look forward to seeing you.
