Greetings! I am a licensed professional counselor with over 15 years experience. Initially, I worked with teens and their families involved in the juvenile justice system. More recently, I worked with adults who were experiencing career, marriage, relationship and stress-related problems. I have been trained and received certifications on several therapeutic modalities that include Cognitive Behavioral, Short-Term, Trauma-Focused and Brief Strategic Family Therapy. I look forward to helping you navigate your concerns.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Building rapport and developing a therapeutic relationship takes time. I would expect our first session to be informal and give us both the opportunity to get to know one another. I don't expect to get a client's complete life story at the first session, but hopefully, receive a glimpse of what is of concern to them and how I might be able to provide support.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I aim to create a space where my clients feel heard and understood and are able to express themselves without judgment. We can tackle their most pressing issue and address that first. Listening without interruption, being nonjudgmental and empathetic are at the forefront of my mind when I am working with a client. I do not try to solve your problems; but listen and help you navigate and develop tools to use outside of our sessions.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I feel that I work best with adults who have found themselves struggling in a personal or professional situation and need someone to listen and help them navigate and make the best decision for themselves. I like to provide individuals therapy tools they can use whenever the need arises.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have over 15 years experience using this treatment approach with adolescents and adult clients. The use of CBT is an effective way in treating many mental health issues and helping clients problem-solve their concerns with the support of a therapist.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Oftentimes, come into therapy to address a particular situation and do not have much time to resolve an issue. Using BSFT has been beneficial to clients who have been diagnosed with Adjustment Disorder, which is an excessive reaction to stress that involves negative thoughts, strong emotions and changes in behavior.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I was trained in Trauma Focused CBT to help individuals impacted by trauma and used this modality on children and adolescents to address traumatic events they experienced in the past. It was very effective in helping my clients with traumatic experiences and had a step-by-step guide to use. I found it helpful in keeping the client on track and able to address their experiences and cope with them.
