The biggest relationship that we struggle to understand and grow with is the person staring at us in the mirror each morning.
No matter what relationship your struggling with ( work, home, family, yourself.) I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Individual Clinical Social Worker in DC (LICSW); and also a Clinical Social Worker in MD (LCSW-C). I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 1985 and my Master's degree in Social Work in 1999. I earned my LICSW in DC in 2002. In December 2024, I earned my Clinical license in Maryland (LCSW-C). I like talking with people--but more importantly, listening to people. To me, therapy is a block of time. It is an opportunity for people to talk to someone who is not a parent, brother, sister, spouse or even best friend. My goal is to listen to you and to help you consider options in your life.
** COUPLES THERAPY ONLY** I am a multi-state licensed psychotherapist and relationship expert with almost 20 years in the mental health field. Please rest assure that you have come to the right place for guidance. It's great that you recognize the benefits of processing your emotions and concerns with a therapist who can help guide you in working through the challenges. The idea of you considering therapy tells me that you are looking for change to take place because something you are or aren't doing no longer working. This is where change happens...this is a very solution-driven space. The sessions are actively engaging, honest, direct, and transformative. We don't get to just talk about it here; we do something about it. Through challenging exercises, role-plays, dissecting, and insightful discussions; we see change. Your expectations and openness to learn new skills is significant to the process of the positive change you can be proud of.

I believe the client is the expert in their situation and work with the client to assist them in reaching their maximal potential. I also realize how important it is to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems, work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process. My therapeutic approach is diverse, eclectic, and curtailed to the individual not a “one size fits all”.
