Hi and welcome to grow therapy. I'm so glad you've considered therapy as a step toward your self-development! My name is Brittany, but I go by BB. I identify as pansexual and multi-racial. These identities have given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges that can come with seeking support for your mental health. Specifically, they help drive the pathway when the therapeutic process feels unfamiliar or overwhelming. I am a holistic therapist who focuses on including the mind and body into therapy. I am also a yoga instructor, and incorporate a lot of mindfulness if that's something you're interested in! Overall, I am a therapist that can be flexible what you're looking for: whether it's a chill and relaxed vibe, or if you're looking for homework and structure! I approach therapy as a collaborative process to make sure you feel seen and involved in your own growth. If you're ready to start your journey toward a healthier, grounded, and healed self, I'd be honored to support you!

I bring something to individual and couples therapy that is rare today and not from a text book, that is lived experience. In drawing from different evidence based schools of thought in combination with my lived experiences we will employ such modalities of therapy such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Adversity and struggle are situations that are common. The goal to avoid both would be ideal but that is not reality. Peace and calmness in the mist of adversity and struggle is a possible reality and what we will strive to help you achieve.

I’m excited to get to know you better! In the meantime, here’s a little about me, and my professional experience and training. I think one of the biggest challenges, after taking that first brave step of reaching out, is to find a good therapist that you connect with. In my twenty-plus years of experience, the therapeutic relationship is the principal reason that therapy “works” or “doesn’t work.” My therapeutic style focuses on first developing a strong therapeutic alliance in which you feel emotionally safe and heard without judgment. You’ve already come to the conclusion that something in your life is not working, and my task is to help you to identify the ways in which you’d like things to be different. From there, together we can create realistic, achievable goals that support those changes and move you toward the life that you deserve. I have a large repertoire of strategies and interventions, which include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness practices, and motivational interviewing. Producing insights, strategies, and tools that you can use immediately is the goal of every interaction I have with you. I have extensive experience in trauma, anxiety, relationship issues (adult as well as parent-child), substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. I have found that many people experiencing trauma or anxiety are helped by a combination of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy. This teaches them how to tolerate their intense feelings and how to reframe unhelpful thought patterns that keep them stuck. On a personal note, I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1997 and have worked with a variety of clients in many different settings. When I’m not helping people, I can usually be found on the golf course or outdoors. I look forward to helping you to make the changes you desire.

My name is David Mancuso, and at the heart of my work is a belief that every person carries an untold story—one shaped by survival, family dynamics, unspoken pain, and the longing to feel whole. I help clients reconnect with the parts of themselves they’ve had to silence in order to function. My approach blends depth-oriented psychotherapy with a direct, grounded style that invites honesty, clarity, and personal evolution. I draw from years of clinical practice, trauma-informed training, attachment theory, and my own lived experiences navigating complex family systems. Because of that background, I understand what it means to rebuild a self from the inside out. Clients often come to me during moments of transition, emotional exhaustion, identity confusion, or relational upheaval. They stay because our work helps them find their center again. While I bring a calm and steady presence, I also show up with real engagement. I don’t sit back passively—I’m interactive, reflective, and attuned to the subtle patterns that shape how you think, feel, and relate. Therapy with me is an active process of reconnecting with your original self, strengthening your internal structure, and learning to move through the world with more confidence, emotional clarity, and integrity. Above all, I care deeply about the people I work with. My intention is to offer a space where you feel understood, supported, and challenged in meaningful ways—so you can step into a more grounded, connected, and empowered version of yourself.

I enjoy helping people find their inner strength and work through those subconscious unresolved issues from the past so that the individual can finally be free from childhood traumas, past relationship issues ect. I strongly believe that between the developmental ages of 1 through 18 can and does affect who you are today and what ever happened to you between that time still has a hold on you today at the ages of 20, 30 50, etc. Getting rid of all that hurt, anger, trauma, etc. so that you can address it, work through it, come to terms with it and ultimately leave it all behind, and unload it.

You are here hoping to find that therapist who stands out to you because you want to find someone who can help you. The search can be overwhelming for some. Most of the profiles of therapists are going to say similar things. Most of which should be standard like brakes on a car. I cannot promise I'm the right one for you. Here is what I can tell you about my approach. I believe in being practical which means I will not use a lot of psycho-babble or fancy strategies. I have a tendency to be blunt. My wife says I'm the "bluntest politest man" she has ever met. I'm going to be real with you. I love couples/marriage counseling, and that is my main focus. However, about half of my clients have always been individuals. Some people just need a place to vent. Others need help solving a problem, and most people need a little of both. I know therapy might be a little intimidating or even scary to some. Try to think of it as a massage for your brain. It's a place where you can say whatever you want guilt-free.

I believe that people do therapy to find freedom in different areas of their lives. For that reason, I work to not only actively listen to client's needs, but also to empower and support them in processing the various barriers they've experienced to impede living in that place of freedom. I offer comfortable and confidential sessions that to help support your needs. I specialize in working through anxiety, growing in self-esteem, and processing various experiences of trauma. As a Christian, I believe in the gift of freedom. As a clinician, I know the work that is sometimes required in order to truly walk in that space. Mental health work is one of the most important journeys you will ever commit to. Let me be the first to congratulate you on being brave in choosing to work towards your healing and freedom in this way. Thank you for choosing to partner with me in helping you heal, one moment at a time.

Counseling is a unique process where you can feel safe, be yourself, and explore ways to improve your quality of life. As your therapist, I provide a relaxed and supportive environment where you can share openly and at your own pace. My role is to listen, offer honest and compassionate feedback, and help you develop practical skills to create meaningful and lasting change. Together, we’ll work to reduce stress, build insight, and support your personal growth. I bring a creative, comforting, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy, while remaining objective so we can stay focused on what truly matters to you. I specialize in relationships, couples therapy, and individual counseling—helping clients improve communication, rebuild trust, and navigate challenges with partners, family members, or in the workplace. I also work with individuals struggling with addiction, including substance use and gambling. My priority is to create a safe, empowering space where you feel comfortable being open and engaged. This foundation allows us to get to the root of the presenting issue, explore patterns, and work toward increased self-esteem, deeper connection, and positive transformation.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Massachusetts rather than a city like Boston?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Massachusetts from Springfield to Cape Cod! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Massachusetts.

Will my therapist take Evernorth?

Yes! If you use Evernorth you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Evernorth you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Couples Counseling?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Couples Counseling, is filtering therapists in Massachusetts that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
