Hello! My name is Maryellen Crompton. I am an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor). I have close to twenty years of experience working in variety of settings including schools, outpatient therapy, inpatient facilities, nursing homes and a post-detox environment. I have my masters in marriage and family therapy. I work with clients facing many changes or challenges including educational, relationship issues, financial stress, parenting, care giving, trauma, chronic health issues, bereavement and recovery. During the therapy sessions, clients and I work together to develop a comfortable plan to achieve their goals. I like to look at the strengths of a client and assist the client with developing more skills to handle life's challenges. The session will help you to feel more able to cope and feel like you can move forward. I am telehealth certified. IF MY SCHEDULE DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU, PLEASE REACH OUT. Sometimes I have other days and evening appointments available not viewable.

If you looking for couples therapy, both clients need to complete the intake form and be present at the time of the appointment.
I discuss with a client his or her goals for therapy. I make suggestions of how to proceed. I use a number of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Strength Approach, Mindfulness and Motivational Interviewing in your journey. I work with clients on building skills versus giving advice. I work with you to find your own solutions.
Cognitive Behavioral is drawing self awareness to negative thoughts leading to anxiety or depression.
Dialectical Behavior focuses more on controling emotions and making good decisions on your own.
Life is stressful. It's difficult to natigate life when you are feel isolate or in conflict with the person you love.
Mindfulness helps center you in the here/now. It decreases your sense of stress by helping you practice compassion for yourself.
