I am a mental health therapist who is passionate about healing. I believe that health is holistic - mind, body, and spirit. I am passionate about being a safe space for mental and emotional healing, especially for African American and Christian-faith communities who have not, historically, been as open to mental health therapy. Welcome—I’m truly glad you’re here. I bring a warm, grounded, and collaborative approach to this work, shaped by graduating with honors in my Master’s program and earning my Bachelor’s in Social Work with a Minor in Human Services. With 17 years of experience supporting at‑risk youth and families across Illinois, Kansas, and Missouri—and roughly five years in a direct therapeutic role—I’ve learned that healing is most powerful when mind, body, and spirit are invited into the process. My background includes specialized training in DBT, ASIST, trauma‑responsive care, and emerging work with elders through grief support and medical assessments. My practice continues to expand as I deepen my understanding of military culture and the unique stressors faced by Service Members, Veterans, and their families. I integrate training in reintegration support, deployment‑related stress, and identity transitions to help military‑connected clients navigate life with clarity and strength. I am honored to now offer supportive therapeutic services to clients in the state of Virginia. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, Somatic Therapy remains one of my first passions and is available for in‑person sessions. This body‑based approach helps clients release stored tension, regulate the nervous system, and reconnect with the wisdom of their physical and emotional selves. When the body softens, the mind opens—and healing becomes more accessible, more intuitive, and more aligned. My work is guided by a simple belief: ~When people feel safe, seen, and supported, they naturally move toward wholeness.~ It’s an honor to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself and step into a life that feels grounded, authentic, and spiritually aligned.

Mixing evidence-based methods and humor, we will address your priorities in a manner to help you make progress and help you to enjoy the journey. In my practice, we fight. As a mental health professional for over twenty-five years, I am dedicated to helping clients explore options and strategies so that they may live a healthier and happier life. I provide compassionate care and counseling to individuals in Illinois, Missouri and Florida via Telehealth. I possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work specializing in Mental Health and Addictions. I also have completed a Master of Business Administration Degree focused on Healthcare Management. I am a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoy spending time with my family, fishing, camping and traveling. I have extensive experience in Leadership and Direct Care positions within Inpatient and Outpatient Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Recovery and Rehabilitation facilities. As a result of those experiences, I witnessed and truly believe mental health and addiction recovery is possible. As we each experience our life’s journey, the good, bad, and ugly, we continue to learn and grow along the way. Many journeys will include troubled times resulting in anxiety, mood disorders, grief, loss, parenting difficulties, relationship issues, addictions and other challenges along the way. But most will also include exciting and positive times such as graduations, college, marriage, career advancements, births, relocations, new homes, new friends, and many more. Although positive, adjustment to these experiences may also result in a need for support during the transition. As a Social Worker, my approach will focus on the whole individual to identify other factors contributing to the current problem. This will include past and current relationships, health issues, work, living and social environments. My goal is to help clients find hope, joy and peace. They will achieve this by learning to view problems differently and using healthy coping skills to make changes and adjust to a new normal.

Life can become complicated when the strategies that once worked stop working. Whether you're navigating a recent ADHD or AuDHD diagnosis, struggling with burnout, anxiety, depression, or major life changes, it can feel like you're trying to solve a puzzle without all the pieces. As someone who was diagnosed later in life, I understand both the relief and the disruption that can come from finally having an explanation for lifelong challenges. That experience has shaped my approach to therapy and deepened my appreciation for the resilience people develop while trying to navigate a world that wasn't designed with their needs in mind. My work is grounded in the belief that every person has a unique nervous system, unique strengths, and unique challenges. Rather than treating a label, I focus on understanding you as a whole person. I draw from established therapy approaches, neuroscience, and our growing understanding of the connection between the brain and body. I also believe that therapy doesn't have to feel cold or clinical. Humor, relatable analogies, and practical tools are often part of our conversations. I work primarily with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or exhausted from constantly trying to keep up. Many are navigating neurodivergence, life transitions, relationship challenges, or the loss of skills that can accompany chronic stress and burnout. I also provide an affirming space for clients in kink, polyamorous, and other consensual nontraditional relationships. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, reduce overwhelm, build sustainable strategies, and create a life that feels more authentic and manageable. You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can work through it together, one step at a time.

As a provider, I bring a compassionate, down-to-earth approach to counseling, rooted in my own experiences as a wife, mother to two wonderful children, and lover of animals. I understand the challenges of balancing family life, personal growth, and the stresses that come with both. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Master's degree in Social Work and currently work full-time as a school social worker, where I have the privilege of supporting students through life's challenges. My passion for helping others extends beyond the school setting, which is why I am excited to offer supportive online counseling with the goal of eventually opening an in-person practice to further serve my community. In my free time, I enjoy watching my children play sports and spending time outdoors during the summer months. However, I also love cozying up indoors with a good book or favorite TV show. These personal interests help me relate to the balance of work, family, and self-care that many clients face. I am eager to expand my work from the school environment into the broader community, offering a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their challenges and grow towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Hello, I'm Tracey. "Relationships often die not because of conversations that were had but rather conversations that were never had," (Lysa Terkeurst). Communication is the #1 most reported reason for couples to enter therapy. It is the "appropriate" way of saying, "he doesn't listen to me," and "all she wants to do is talk and talk, {nag}" or giving each other what I refer to as the "non-verbal abuse" {silent treatment}. It means I don't know my partner, or we can't talk without fighting. Yet almost every couple starts off communicating at some level. I mean, come on--you and your partner would not be a couple if the first date involved playing the "Staring contest" where the first one to blink loses. What we fail to recognize is that Communication is a form of Intimacy. And all other forms on intimacy hinge on protecting the communicative intimacy. So, what is that and how do I get some before we leave each other? Communicative intimacy refers to the deep emotional and relational closeness that develops through communication, where individuals feel understood, valued, and connected on a personal level. It is both a feeling and a process shaped by how people interact, listen, and respond to each other. It involves an aligned commitment to taking care of it and protecting it. So, time's a wasting and you both are out of options. You both need to commit to starting this before you commit to ending.

I am a Latinx bilingual and bicultural psychotherapist. I have a master’s degree in social work from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. My expertise has centered on providing therapeutic care in inpatient settings and community mental health centers with a focus on crisis and trauma interventions. I am trained in mindfulness-based approaches, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, parent training and Motivational Interviewing. In therapy, I address patient's concerns which include depression, anxiety, domestic violence and complex trauma. My approach to care is to create a safe and comfortable environment for all of my clients and I believe individuals can excel when addressing their symptoms from a systematic, family and individual approach. I began practicing 9 years ago at a community mental health center with survivors of domestic violence. Thereafter, I worked with adolescents experiencing depression and anxiety. The next five years I spent my time working with pediatric patients in the Autism spectrum addressing behavioral concerns. In this process I have worked with the LGBTQ+ and Latinx community and inclusive of other communities. It is my belief that therapy is unique to each individual and I cater individually to all my patients. I practice cultural humility as I continue to learn about cultural uniqueness and differences. I continue to research and inquire about patients' experience to improve my approach to therapy, the therapeutic relationship and experience.

My first career includes 17 years of retail management. I worked in multiple divisions, environments, and roles within the retail management industry. Most of my experience was in big-box retail environments or corporate offices, so I understand the expectations and stressors of P&L management, marketing, staff performance/recruitment/training & development, shrinkage, O.S.H.A. compliance, and merchandising. I transitioned from the retail management industry to the human services industry in March 2010 after earning my Master’s degree in Human Services, with a specialty in Mental Health Counseling. I recently obtained a doctoral degree in Human and Social Services. This information is pertinent for adults who need assistance to cope with work-life balance, corporate industry standards, stressful work environments, conflict management with co-workers, and work performance due to compassion fatigue or inappropriate time management.
