Hi there, I'm Jonathan, a licensed marriage and family therapist. Congratulations on taking your first step toward wellness and recovery! I specialize in helping people with issues like anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, marital/pre-marital issues, and more. It is my personal and professional commitment to assist and support you in any way possible on this journey of change. I have been practicing therapy since 2005 and completed my Bachelor's degree at Appalchian State University in Boone NC (class of 2003). I completed my Master's in MFT Psychology at Phillips Graduate Institute of Psychology in Chatsworth, CA (class of 2005).
A detailed intake where the focus will be on getting to know you holistically and tailoring the therapy to your specific needs. The intake will also encompass the use of cultural sensitivity in tailoring the therapy to your specific needs. As a therapist I believe in full transparency and non-judgement. No topic that you bring to the session will be off limits.
I use a variety of techniques including CBT, Solution Focused, Psychoanalytic, Humanistic, and Family Systems. I am nationally accredited as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. I help my clients find their inner peace, develop coping skills for inter/intrapersonal struggles, and gain insight and focus to possess healthy cognitions and lifestyle choices.
I am empathetic, calm, direct when needed, psycho-educational and overall interactive with clients. I find the more mutual interaction there is, the more learning one receives.

Jonathan is a thoughtful listener with excellent insight into raising healthy teenagers. I appreciate his ability to provide solutions in a balanced and non-judgmental way. He helps me to separate some of the emotions I feel and to create an actionable plan to face the issues that are most challenging.

Throughout our session, I was presented with Jonathon's line of thinking and what he felt could lead to our next steps and issues that need further exploration. I am a goal oriented person and this style of communication suits me well as it gives me confirmation that we are working towards some kind of solution or progress towards a more acceptable state of my mental well being.
