Maria Belinsky
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California and have been licensed for about 10 years now. I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in Anthropology in 2004. I also received my Masters in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago in 2005.
I have also done walk on roles in two professional Shakespeare productions (Henry VI, part 1 and 2) at the Old Globe at Balboa Park and the experience was amazing.
Finally, I received my Masters degree from the University of Chicago in 2012 in Social Work with a clinical concentration. My professors used to tease me and call me the "thermometer" because I had so many degrees. I actually love learning (I do not love studying) and am a true "book worm." I have piles and piles of books scattered in every nook and cranny. I also built my own telescope when I was in high school. I have seen several stars (Arcturus and Vega) and Neptune through high powered telescopes which were jaw droppingly beautiful. MI is essential for good therapy. Drawing out the change talk in clients is essential to what we do.
