Melanie Reyes
I am a warm, compassionate, trauma-informed therapist who helps people across different ages and stages of life feel safe, understood, and less alone. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, major life transitions, relationship concerns, and the lasting effects of painful experiences. My style is genuine, collaborative, and practical, with a holistic approach that recognizes the connection between the mind, body, spirit, and nervous system. Together, we will make sense of what you are carrying, recognize your strengths, and develop tools that support healing, clarity, confidence, and meaningful change.
First session
Our first session is a welcoming conversation where we will explore what brings you to therapy, what has been weighing on you, and what you hope will become different. You are welcome to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I will listen for the patterns, pressures, strengths, and experiences that may be affecting your mind, body, spirit, and nervous system. Together, we will begin identifying your needs and creating goals that feel realistic and meaningful. My priority is for you to leave feeling heard, respected, and clearer about how we can move forward together.
Strengths
My greatest strengths are creating emotional safety, listening beneath the surface, and helping clients make sense of experiences that may feel tangled or overwhelming. I am warm and compassionate, while also engaged and practical. I help clients recognize patterns, understand trauma responses, regulate their nervous systems, and discover choices that may have been difficult to see while simply surviving. My holistic approach honors the connection between the mind, body, spirit, and nervous system. Depending on your needs, I may integrate EMDR, mindfulness, somatic strategies, attachment-based work, grief support, and faith-based counseling when desired. I offer gentle challenges when they can support growth while respecting each client’s pace, autonomy, culture, values, and lived experience.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients may be navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, major life transitions, or the lasting effects of painful experiences. They may feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long. I work well with clients who want a safe, compassionate space to better understand their experiences and recognize the patterns affecting their lives. Together, we explore the connection between the mind, body, spirit, and nervous system while developing practical tools for regulation, healing, healthier relationships, greater confidence, and meaningful change.
