Denice Palacios
I’m Denice Palacios, a bilingual therapist from Los Angeles and a proud first-generation daughter of immigrants. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2015 with my Master’s in Social Work. I’m passionate about providing therapy that respects and honors your unique culture, background, and life experiences. My own journey helps me deeply understand the challenges of navigating different worlds while staying true to yourself. I’m here to create a safe, welcoming space where people from all walks of life can feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal, grow, and build the life they want.
First session
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what’s been going on in your life, what’s bringing you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of it. We’ll explore your strengths, challenges, and goals, and I’ll explain how we can work together in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you. It’s a relaxed, supportive conversation where you can move at your own pace.
Strengths
What stands out about my approach is that I help you tap into your own strengths and natural ability to heal. I believe your mind and body hold powerful tools for growth, and I’m here to guide and support that process. I combine proven methods like EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness with a warm, collaborative style, so together we can create lasting, meaningful change in a way that feels safe and empowering for you.
Ideal clients
I’m best positioned to support adults and teens who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or weighed down by anxiety, trauma, or major life changes. I work well with people who are ready to explore their inner world, heal from past pain, and build healthier patterns in their lives. Whether you want to feel more confident, improve relationships, or find new ways to cope, I’m here to help you take those steps in a safe, supportive space.
Treatment methods
EMDR
I use EMDR to help people heal from difficult experiences, trauma, and anxiety. It’s a gentle, proven method that helps you feel less stuck and more at peace. Together, we go at your pace so you can safely work through painful memories and feel stronger moving forward. I offer EMDR in both English and Spanish.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help people understand and change patterns of thinking and behavior that cause stress or hold them back. This practical, proven approach helps you build healthier habits, feel more confident, and handle life’s challenges in a positive way. Together, we set realistic goals that support your growth.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help people handle difficult thoughts and feelings in a healthier way. This approach focuses on helping you stay present, let go of what’s out of your control, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want. Together, we work on building resilience, self-compassion, and clarity about your values.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I provide culturally sensitive therapy that respects and values your unique background, beliefs, and experiences. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Together, we work in a way that honors who you are and supports your healing and growth.
Attachment-based
I use attachment-based therapy to help people explore how early relationships may shape how they feel and connect with others today. This approach supports healing from past wounds and helps build healthier, more secure relationships. Together, we work on creating a strong sense of safety, trust, and connection.
