Hello I’m LaKeina but you can call me Keina Have you ever felt like you were drowning due to all of your responsibilities? But you have to get things done because there is no one to do what needs to be done but you. Maybe you are struggling with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, processing trauma and or adverse emotions. If so there is hope, you are not alone as I will support you and assist you with developing appropriate coping skills. Sometimes our circumstances and mental state can detour us from being our best selves. However, we are all human and can all use help and support that is consistent. Many suffer in depression, anxiety and with processing trauma. There is a way to actively manage these conditions and relieve yourself from the guilt and shame that your emotions or your diagnosis may have produced over time. It will be my pleasure to support you with identifying the source of your adverse emotions, identifying the root and then from there assist you with properly processing. Therapy with me is not a dictatorship you will take the lead as no one knows you better than you know yourself. My role is to support you, encourage you and cheer you on as you go from struggling to actively managing!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After our initial session, we will work together to compartmentalize the things that you know are important to prioritize. Whether it is needing to find a balance between your external responsibilities, or managing your internal emotions, we will work together to come up with a plan of action that is reasonable. We will also set reasonable goals and identify together how those goals can be accomplished throughout your therapeutic experience.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I have a humanistic approach to therapy and in my everyday interpersonal relationships. Meaning I strongly believe that everyone is deserving of respect. I also believe we all have the potential through being kind and respectful to each other, to nurture each other on our journey to becoming our best selves. My approach is also deeply rooted in person-centered therapy which creates a space where you can trust that my approach is non-judgmental, and you will have a voice.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Within our sessions, please feel free to be honest as in building a relationship with you I will create an atmosphere where you don’t have to worry about feeling judged or ridiculed for your personal beliefs. It’s easy as human beings to get wrapped up in low-self-esteem and it can be difficult to navigate through adverse emotions such as guilt and shame. I will support you as we embark on a journey together to conquer those adverse emotions by identifying your strengths.
