About me

About Deleene Farquharson, LMFT As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am passionate about providing hope and healing to individuals navigating emotional pain, life transitions, trauma, and mental health challenges. With a compassionate and grounded approach, I create a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. My goal is to walk alongside you with empathy and clarity, helping you uncover your inner resilience and guiding you toward meaningful change. Together, we work to build healthier relationships—with yourself and others—through insight, emotional growth, and practical tools for everyday life. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll begin by getting to know each other and building rapport. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, and what brought you to therapy. This is a safe, non-judgmental space where you’re encouraged to share at your own pace. We’ll explore your goals for therapy and discuss what healing and progress might look like for you. I’ll also explain how I work, answer any questions you have, and together, we’ll start creating a supportive and collaborative plan. This initial meeting helps lay the foundation for a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and openness.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to truly listen—not just to your words, but to what may be unspoken. I offer thoughtful, intuitive feedback that often helps clients feel deeply understood. Many have shared that I’m able to pinpoint what’s really going on beneath the surface, even when it’s hard to name. My approach includes offering constructive criticism in a supportive way, balanced with encouragement and positive guidance. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and empowered to grow.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Who I Work With I specialize in working with young adults through older individuals who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, family conflict, identity concerns, and personality-related issues. Many of my clients are also living with mental health diagnoses and are seeking a space to be understood, supported, and empowered. Whether you’re facing life transitions, emotional overwhelm, or long-standing interpersonal struggles, I offer a collaborative and compassionate approach to help you find clarity, connection, and a renewed sense of self.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

As a therapist, I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients in gaining insight into how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are deeply connected. CBT is an evidence-based, structured approach that empowers individuals to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck in cycles of distress or dysfunction. Together, we explore how automatic thoughts and core beliefs may be influencing emotional reactions and behaviors, often without conscious awareness. In my practice, I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can begin to examine and challenge these thought patterns. We work collaboratively to replace unhelpful or distorted thinking with more balanced and constructive perspectives. This process helps reduce emotional suffering and supports healthier behavioral choices. CBT also involves practical tools and skills, including thought tracking, behavioral activation, emotion regulation, and mindfulness. Clients are encouraged to apply these strategies between sessions so that growth extends beyond the therapy room. I tailor the work to each person’s unique needs—whether we’re addressing anxiety, depression, trauma responses, or daily stressors. CBT is especially helpful for clients looking for active, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on the present moment while also acknowledging the impact of past experiences. I’ve seen clients make meaningful progress and regain a sense of control and clarity in their lives through this approach. If you’re ready to explore how your thoughts and behaviors shape your emotional world, I’m here to walk with you in that journey using CBT principles.
