I am dedicated to the pursuit of social justice within mental health care. I strive passionately to increase access to resources for folks unjustly impacted by oppressive practices through the delivery of culturally responsive therapy. Holistic wellness should not be a privilege, but a right afforded to each individual to promote a full and robust life. I strive to aid folks in learning about their inner world and the impact it has on their perception of the world around them. I utilize unconditional positive regard to create an environment where folks may share and receive help without fear of reprimand or judgement.
During our first session, I'd like to hear about your goals for therapy, previous experiences of mental health services, and what works for you in the therapeutic space.
I've worked with a variety of concerns, some of which include substance use, severe mental illness, domestic violence, trauma, grief, and acculturation. Due to this varied experience, I am adept at treating mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, and a variety of other concerns. Fundamentally, I approach therapy in a person-centered capacity and adjust my approach to the needs of the individual.
Folks come to therapy at different stages in their mental wellness journey. I'm willing to meet you where you're at with warmth and compassion. My ask is that you're willing to actively collaborate in the therapy process to receive the greatest benefit.
