Hello, My name is Aida Grigorian, a therapist deeply committed to helping individuals and families create harmonious and fulfilling lives. With a foundation as a medical doctor and a master's degree from USC, I bring a unique perspective to therapy that integrates a deep understanding of mental well-being. My approach is compassionate and tailored to each client's needs, focusing on fostering resilience, growth, and meaningful connections. Together, we can work towards overcoming challenges and building a life of balance and joy.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll begin with brief introductions to get to know each other and establish a comfortable foundation. From there, we’ll dive into the specific challenges you’re facing so I can gain a clear understanding of your unique situation. This collaborative approach will allow me to create a tailored plan designed to address your needs effectively. Follow-up sessions will build on this foundation, ensuring we’re making steady progress toward your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I help my clients to acknowledge and embrace their thoughts, feelings, and experiences rather than avoiding, fighting or suppressing them while committing to actions/behavioral changes aligned with personal values.

Attachment-based

By exploring clients' early childhood experiences and attachment styles with their caregivers, I help my clients to repair their attachment wounds by working their inner child and addressing unresolved trauma or neglect.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help my clients to identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors, by identifying the negative thoughts and cognitive distortions that lead to negative feelings and behaviors. By challenging and evaluating the evidence for and against their negative thoughts, I help them to restructure and modify their irrational thoughts and believes along with developing coping strategies and behavioral changes.

Compassion Focused

I utilize Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to reduce shame and self-criticism, and to increase the ability to manage difficult emotions in a balanced way, to build stronger relationships through compassion toward others, as well as improve overall mental well-being and resilience by fostering self-kindness, self-compassion and compassion toward others to address emotional difficulties, shame, and self-criticism.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Acceptance and change are the key components of DBT: I teach my clients to accept their current situation while working to change their behaviors and thoughts that are not serving them well. And I do this by validating my clients' experiences and feelings, by acknowledging that their responses make sense given their circumstances, while guiding them toward more effective ways of coping through teaching them skills, such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and effective interpersonal skills.
