New clients continue care with this provider
I have been committed to the field of social work since the age of 18, with a longstanding aspiration to become a therapist. My dedication to this work is rooted in personal experiences with mental health care, including a formative encounter with a provider whose lack of lived experience left me feeling misunderstood and disconnected. This experience reinforced my resolve to offer clients the kind of compassionate, attuned, and trauma-informed care that fosters safety and trust. As a neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ provider, I bring a nuanced understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals navigating identity, marginalization, and systems that are not always built for inclusivity. I draw on both clinical training and lived experience to create a supportive, affirming space where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside individuals in their healing journeys, providing support, insight, and validation as they navigate life’s complexities.
During our initial session, my primary goal is to develop a comprehensive and holistic understanding of you as an individual. I acknowledge that intake appointments can sometimes feel procedural or impersonal, so I am committed to fostering a collaborative and rapport-building environment from the outset to help ease any discomfort. The first session typically lasts approximately one hour, and I encourage you to share at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I recognize that establishing trust and ease with a new clinician is a process, and I respect your individual timeline. My approach is warm, open, and supportive, with the intention of creating a safe space where you feel heard and empowered throughout our therapeutic work.
Social work and social welfare have been passions of mine from a young age. Having personally navigated significant challenges, I am deeply committed to continuous professional development, consistently seeking opportunities to expand my knowledge and refine my clinical skills in order to provide the highest quality of care. This dedication to lifelong learning enables me to effectively support a diverse client population and address a broad range of presenting concerns. In therapy sessions, I prioritize creating a relaxed, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences. I believe that building a strong therapeutic alliance, often enriched with moments of genuine connection and even laughter, is essential to fostering healing and growth. While we work together to develop practical skills and coping strategies tailored to your needs, my overarching goal is to make therapy a comfortable, engaging, and empowering process—one that clients look forward to as a meaningful part of their journey toward well-being and resilience.
I am best suited to support clients who engage in therapy with openness, a willingness to participate in meaningful dialogue, and a genuine commitment to personal growth. My clinical practice primarily focuses on trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, and the complexities often associated with these conditions. I find it particularly fulfilling to work with individuals who have faced persistent challenges and feel stuck in their healing process, and I am dedicated to facilitating meaningful breakthroughs—often utilizing EMDR as an effective therapeutic modality to support this work. Working with depression and anxiety is a core area of my expertise, and I am passionate about offering new strategies to manage these challenges and improve quality of life. Additionally, I have a deep commitment to body liberation and would be honored to help you cultivate acceptance of the body you inhabit. As a pansexual woman, I am especially passionate about supporting the LGBTQ+ community and understand firsthand the unique experiences that may arise. I also create a sex-positive and open environment for discussing topics related to kink and consensually non-monogamous (CNM) or open relationships—feel free to speak openly, as I am knowledgeable and supportive of diverse sexualities and relationship dynamics.
I have been utilizing EMDR therapy as a primary treatment modality for nearly six years. While its evidence-based effectiveness in addressing trauma is central to my clinical work, I also incorporate EMDR protocols and techniques to target a broad range of presenting concerns. This integrative approach allows for flexibility in addressing anxiety, attachment disruptions, performance issues, and other psychological stressors within diverse therapeutic contexts.
I frequently integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my clinical work due to its strong empirical support and broad applicability across a range of presenting issues. CBT provides a structured, evidence-based framework that facilitates the identification and modification of maladaptive cognitions and behaviors. Through this approach, clients are supported in developing more adaptive thought patterns and coping strategies, thereby enhancing emotional regulation, psychological resilience, and overall mental well-being.
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as an evidence-based intervention to support clients in developing emotional regulation, increasing distress tolerance, and enhancing interpersonal effectiveness. Within the DBT framework, I emphasize the cultivation of mindfulness and the practice of radical acceptance, both of which have demonstrated significant utility in improving clients’ overall psychological functioning and adaptive coping capacities.
