Andrew Maihos
My name is Andrew Maihos I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker practicing in Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire. I have been working in human services since 2011 and have been practicing as a counselor since 2016. I have worked in a wide variety of settings including schools, prisons, substance abuse treatment facilities, and mental health centers. I have experience working with all age groups and a wide variety of mental health/substance use disorders. I would describe myself as non-judgmental, easy going, and empathetic. I greatly value accountability, candor, and self-reflection in the treatment process.

First session
It will typically be a blend of getting to know each other, me providing some psychoeducation, and beginning an exploration into a person's world view and their path to therapy.
Strengths
Showing up everyday ready to listen is my biggest strength. Self awareness is crucial to being an effective therapist. Practicing self-care consistently is what helps us to progress, grow, and achieve within our careers and our personal lives. Ideal clients
Adults with ADHD/anxiety/depressed mood that are looking to work on themselves/find new ways to make progress toward their goals or maybe just figuring out what their goals are. I use a combination of behavioral therapy, psychoeducation on executive functioning, coaching, and mindfulness skills to support clients in making these changes. My practice is largely informed by CBT, DBT and mindfulness.
