(she/her)
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am dedicated to supporting individuals as they work toward emotional well-being and meaningful life changes. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from San José State University and bring over eight years of experience in mental health. My background includes extensive work in community mental health and dual diagnosis settings, where I support clients facing both mental health and substance use challenges. I utilize evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and culturally sensitive therapy, ensuring that my approach honors each client’s unique cultural identity and lived experience. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered. Together, we will explore your goals and challenges, develop practical strategies, and build resilience to help you navigate life’s complexities with greater clarity and confidence. I’m here to collaborate with you as you move toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
In the first session, clients can expect a supportive and welcoming space where we begin to get to know each other. I focus on building rapport and giving clients the opportunity to share what brought them to therapy and what they hope to gain from it.
I have extensive experience working in diverse settings, including community mental health and dual diagnosis treatment. This has allowed me to support clients facing complex challenges related to both mental health and substance use. Working with a wide variety of backgrounds has strengthened my ability to take an empathetic, client-centered approach. I prioritize understanding each individual’s unique experiences and goals, which has consistently helped foster positive therapeutic outcomes and meaningful progress.
I’m committed to working with adults who are navigating life’s complexities—whether it’s major transitions, feeling stuck, or struggling to find direction. As a mental health therapist, I aim to help clients better understand what they’re experiencing, make sense of their emotions, and feel more in control of their lives. My approach is to provide a supportive space where we can work together to explore what’s going on, build insight, and empower you to move forward with clarity and confidence
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I work with clients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, and I make it a priority to provide therapy that is respectful, inclusive, and responsive to each person’s cultural identity. I take time to understand how a client’s background, values, and experiences shape their view of mental health, relationships, and healing. I also reflect on my own cultural perspective and how it may show up in the room. By staying curious, open, and flexible, I aim to build trust and offer care that feels safe and relevant to each client’s lived experience
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I support clients in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and developing more balanced, realistic thoughts that support healthier choices. I incorporate practical tools like thought records, behavioral activation, and coping strategies tailored to each client’s needs. CBT has been especially effective for clients dealing with depression, anxiety, and substance use.
