HI! My name is Caty Brown, and I am board-certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Over the years, I have worked with a diverse group of clients with varying diagnoses and concerns. Each person's story is important as it guides the changes they would like to make in their life. I respect how difficult it can be to seek help. I very much enjoy listening to my patients and working collaboratively to prioritize goals.
During our first session, we will discuss the reasons that you are seeking help, and do a thorough health history. We will then collaborate to set goals and formulate a treatment plan.
I am available to listen and collaborate, with empathy and no judgement. Everyone is on their own journey. I understand that opening up and telling your story to a new provider can be difficult and stressful. It's OK. It's a team effort, and once you're past that initial hurdle, sessions tend to get easier and feel less stressful.
I am open to helping anyone, but have the most experience in helping individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. It isn't unusual for for a client to have been diagnosed with multiple psychiatric conditions, and I like to review past history to ensure that the diagnoses are accurate. Initial sessions typically take 30 to 60 minutes, where we cover medical history, psychiatric history and lifestyle. Follow-up sessions are typically much faster and are progress checks on whether we're making strides toward goals.

Motivational Interviewing
Clients want to change their behavior patterns and through motivational interviewing we are able to clarify how people get in their own way. It's a method to determine what a client really wants to achieve. Once we determine the goal, we can make a plan.

Very attentive, kind, and down to earth. She has a holistic approach and considers other factors that might impact your health before helping you decide a good path forward.

Catherine was incredibly easy to converse with, and I’m sure I’ll receive a note later with the recommendation for my primary care physician.
