Hello there, I am Amy Erdèlyi, LCSW. I work with adults who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, often after trauma, loss, or prolonged stress. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside while struggling internally with anxiety, grief, or emotional exhaustion. Therapy with me is a supportive, non-judgmental space to slow down, process what you’ve been carrying, and rebuild a sense of stability and self-trust. My work is client-centered and trauma-informed, meaning therapy is guided by your needs, goals, and pace. I am EMDR-trained and DBT-informed, and I integrate these approaches with cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and strength-based practices. Together, we focus on reducing overwhelming symptoms, improving emotional regulation, and building coping strategies that feel realistic and sustainable in your daily life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other, discussing what brings you to therapy, and identifying what you’d like support with. I’ll explain confidentiality, my approach, and possible treatment options. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe and manageable. If we feel it’s a good fit, we’ll create a plan together to support your goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have worked with many individuals, youth, and families with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I will help you navigate and make sense of those traumas that have affected you, and the symptoms they bring up in your life. I will help you find coping strategies that will help to reduce those symptoms that work for you. I also work with those who have experienced loss of a loved one, relationship, or spouse/partner. I help you to normalize the grief process and find meaning in the life of those who have touched up, and validate those feelings of overwhelm and the grief process.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work best with adults from the teenage years through later life who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted and are seeking meaningful change. Many of my clients are motivated to improve their well-being but feel unsure how to move forward or lack the tools to manage their current challenges. I specialize in working with adults experiencing: • Trauma and PTSD (including childhood and complex trauma) • Grief and loss (death of a loved one, relationship loss, life transitions) • Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm • Difficulty with boundaries, self-compassion, and self-trust • Stress related to relationships, caregiving, or major life changes
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I utilize client-centered therapy and pull from a toolbox of strength-based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR), motivational interviewing, traditional talk therapy, and many approaches to grief and loss.

Amy was patient and listened to all my rants. She smiled, and was talking to me as if she had new me for years. I instantly got comfortable with her. My anxiety was high on meeting any therapist Amy has changed my view on this.
