Hello there, I am Amy Rhoades, LCSW. Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed and unsure how to find new coping strategies? Are you struggling with being kind to yourself? Have you experienced trauma throughout your life, a one time event, or even through childhood and need support in managing the symptoms of the trauma or other life events? Do you struggle with grief and loss, and feel getting out of grief is never ending? Or substance use? I am here to help you find your inner strengths and resiliency. I work with those with PTSD, grief and loss, anxiety and depression, just to name a few. I utilize client-centered therapy and pull from a tool box of strength based practices, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, traditional talk therapy, and many approaches to grief and loss. If you are dealing with trauma, loss of a loved one or spouse or past relationships, and seeking support to manage all the upcoming feelings behind these issues, I am here to help. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space to help process your feelings, and space to heal and grow. I utilize evidence-based techniques and I am here to help you grow. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, explain how I practice, and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. I explain what confidentiality looks like and what modalities I use that might help with the struggles you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. At the end of the session, if we feel like a fit, we will schedule weekly sessions to reach your treatment goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with many individuals, youth, and families with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I will help you navigate and make sense of those traumas that have affected you, and the symptoms they bring up in your life. I will help you find coping strategies that will help to reduce those symptoms that work for you. I also work with those who have experienced loss of a loved one, relationship, or spouse/partner. I help you to normalize the grief process and find meaning in the life of those who have touched up, and validate those feelings of overwhelm and the grief process.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients from teenage years to end of life. My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools help with their current life struggles. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about the struggles in their lives.
